Need a computer guy's help...

I have a couple of questions from some CERTIFIED, SCHOOL TRAINED computer software experts. The reason for this is, I don't want anyone's "I think it may be...." or "You could try...." or "This worked for me...." responses, just to keep this thread short.

2 questions. First off, how in the hell do I search ONLY AMERICAN WEBSITES on google. Is this possible? Every time I go and do a search for something specific (mostly gun parts / ammunition) I get sites from new zealand, yugoslavia, poland, etc etc. I don't want to buy anything from Europe, obviously. I just can't believe there's no single way, for this really sophisticated search engine, to narrow results. I found a section of google called ''search only in american websites'' and it did absolutely nothing. All the same websites from off the continent still came up. I get **** written in serbian, polish etc etc. I get British websites, all this crap. There has GOT to be a RELIABLE way to end my insanity...

Secondly, mozilla firefox... I need to do 2 things, which again, I can't see why it's this impossible to do... 1st off, how do you make your setting changes PERMANENT. Whenever I go to options, and security, to change whether or not I want my history cleared everytime I close the browser, my setting changes never stick. As soon as I close my firefox, it goes right back to where it was before. Which is ''clear my history every time I close firefox''.
I dont WANT my history to clear...
Also, how do I change the setting, that allows every additional tab I open, to load my homepage automatically?. For me, only the initial opening of firefox brings me to my homepage. (which is google) each additional tab I open, goes nowhere, and it waits for me to manually type something in. Why. That's stupid.

Anyone here a google and firefox master? Please help me, as I'm going insane.

For Google. Click on Advanced Search then click on the + symbol beside where is says Date, usage rights, numeric range, and more. Under that you can narrow your results to a specific region.

I haven't used firefox in a while and don't have it installed anymore so you are on your own with that one.

Try going to Google instead of Google as well as the above mentioned setting.

Well, it didn't yesterday. Now it does. We'll give it a try, and report back. thanks.

edit: I tried it and no go. I still get sites from new zealand, australia, etc etc. Whoever wrote their proprietary algorithm for searching should get fired. Why would you include a site from new zealand, when searching google.us?

What version of firefox are you running?

It will be impossible to exclude all web sites except those in the US. What I mean is geographically, you could but, what is to keep a company in another country from picking up a domain hosting package from a US provider and then you would still see the site. One of my major providers is in the EU, I'd hate to not be able to see that site.

I see... Now I'm getting to see the picture... but for ME, I'm just there buying stuff... why would I want companies off the continent... Plus, it's mostly guns and ammunition I'm buying. And since we're the only people pretty much that can have guns and ammo, I don't want the other sites clogging up the results... Especially all those stupid ass filipino kids and their dumbass airsoft ****.
And how do I find out which version I have?

Sorry, I've been out for a few days. Crazy busy.

At the top of firefox, go to help > about and it will tell the version.
