so i am thinking about trading my 86 GN and i want opinions on if it would be a good trade. i listed what the person said about his car. and here is a link to a thred about his car and i posted some pics of my car

I have a clean mini tubbed 82 GT that I might consider trading. It's got an LS engine in it. Still set up for the street with EFI and overdrive and everything. It's a lot faster than you'd think it is.
It's all AJE Tube front suspension with Koni coil overs, billet caster/camber plates, manual rack, 11" rotors, etc.

To be honest, we'll be switching out the front struts with Strange 10 way adjustables, because I think the current Koni's don't have a lot of throw, and they don't seem to like the car being as low as it is.

The AJE K-member was designed for the LS engine swap, but it can also be used for a SBF if you change the pedestals. I purchased the SBF pedestals as well and saved them, just in case I ever wanted to put a small block ford back in it. The car has 60k original miles and has never seen a winter. It was painted last year.
We can talk more later. Plus it hasn't been truly tested. The engine in the car has changed in the last 3 weeks. Obviously please don't tell anyone.

I can tell you for sure it will go 10s on motor and 9s on the hose. The engine is brand new and the kit hasn't been installed yet.

U wanna trade that car for a 82 mustang GT? I would think long and hard b4 u did that. I love Mustangs, especially 90-93 but never an 82. Just not really a good looken car imo. two each his own tho. I think u'll be trading one headache for a bigger one.

What is can do and what it has done are always two different things.

yeah, i dont like the 4 eyes either. he said he would convert it to the newer front end if we were to trade but i do like the drive train.

More than an 82' GT even if it was gold plated, covered with boobs, and ran 9's on the hose in reverse.

lol, yeah. i put a trade value of 18k on another site and everyone was pretty much laughing at me, but i could be wrong i guess.

well i was looking for a 87-93 notch back that had a healthy motor and i could race and didnt cost a million bucks for parts. i only live a mile from the drag strip.
it was a local muscle car forum

You will find that mostly "Buick people" will pay for these cars. There's still a lot of doubt out there for the little V6, until they are caught with their pants down at the lights.

Hold out until you get what you are looking for and someone pays your bottom line.

Your best bang for the buck would be to sell your car outright first, then negotiate with what you may find you are interested in with cash in hand. Just too many obstacles to do a trade car-for-car IMHO. I've tried that route before but it never materialized.
