Need help! Nd pic of SS THDP...

I recently bought a SS THDP from a vendor and when I compare it with an aluminized THDP off of a friend's car it looks nothing alike (quality, bends, etc). Reason I'm asking for pics is because I think this vendor sold me one of his homemade units and charged me for a THDP. I could have had a homemade pipe made by a friend locally for $200 and the reason I didn't was because I wanted a piece I could simply drop in. I have installed several aluminized units on friend's cars and NONE of them came made so poorly. I will have pics up later to show the pipe, but want to see other pics if you have them.

Problems:

The end that goes into the cat is out of round, enough that I have to try to reshape it myself to get it to go into the cat.

The end that is out of round was also cut uneven, just a bit, but looks sloppy.

The outside of the pipe has wrinkles, similar to a non-mandrel bend, and looks exactly the same as an exhaust kit I bought from this vendor. The pipes are the same color, same wrinkles at the bends, similar welds.


Any current pics of SS THDP would be GREATLY appreciated.

I won't say the vendor's name until I see absolute proof that he jipped me.

Bump...anyone?

I get everything on and the "hi flow" cat I bought with the THDP has about 1/16" of an overlap between it and the DP.

I take it down the street and the cat separates from the DP. Now there is about a 1/16" gap between the cat and DP.

Someone please help me here, post a pic if you have one.

Like I said, I've swapped DP's many times and this pipe neither resembles a THDP and fit's like a poorly made homemade piece of crap.

Please note! This was a SS THDP that was painted with a high temp paint that promptly burned off so don't ask where I got it coated.

I have since had it coated with Jet hot 2000.

Thanks guys....are the SS units that TH makes really silver from the get go or are they black like the photos posted by SinistrV6?

Mine is silver and my buddies aluminized unit came black.

Here are a few crappy digital pics I have. Tell me what you think. Also note the end of the DP and if you can see that it is out of round.

I have more pics coming. I sent the the vendor an email so we'll see what they do.

Mine was actually sort of "gold" from the heat. If it looked black in the photos that's not really what it looked like. 304 SS should have some shine to it (but not like chrome). I've seen 'em polished but they turn gold as soon as they've had a couple of heat cycles.

Mine looks silverish, as you can see in the photos.

Had to buy a 3" band clamp to connect the DP to the CAT...never seen a THDP come that way before.
