The chip determines what data will come out of your ALDL port...the port you hook up to your laptop for Turbolink.
[*SNIP*]
BTW another important note....The name "extender" comes from the fact that the chip extends the stock MAF above the limit of 255 gps....therefore your MAF numbers on Turbolink using an Extender chip will have a numerical value 1/2 of what the actual grams/sec is. (My Scanmaster reads a MAF of 2 at idle)
Actually, TurboLink compensates for the 1/2 MAF readings if you choose the fast datastream (and choose it in the Special Hardware drop down). The MAF readings are correct.
I recommend that everyone download and install the new 4.0.4 TurboLink (it works fine with the v3.0 hardware). There were some early synchronization glitches with reading the fast datastream and those have been ironed out.

I know I'm new here but, will it all(extender&Trans+) work with an LT1 MAF? since it's a 3" and the pipes are all 3" should fit nice,
and is everyone using stock LT1 MAF's or can you use a stock LT1 MAF with the ported MAF Ends(they flow like a LS1 MAF)?
Just wondering, I own a 94 Formula with the LT1. and I have an extra MAF with Ported Ends and If it will work I will hold on to them for the GN.
I am going to be running a TE61, 60# Inj, LS1 MAF, Trans+, trying to get high 10's, my question is, should I run the Extender or Extender Extreme Chip, what is the diff between the 2?

With your goals in mind, you should probably think about going with the Extender Extreme. The difference is, the Extreme allows for even more air flow measurements than does the Extender.
Extenders can read up to 512 gps air flow. The Extremes can measure significantly more than 750 gps.
