need help with picking turbo

see current set up in sig. + I'm having my tranny rebuilt now and a Pat's 10" conv. on order(3200 stall). Not set in stone on the injectors. I want something thats streetable and yet kicking a-- at the track. I'm leaning towards a TE44 but seems like I've seen something on here about some 50 series turbo that actually has alittle turbo lag that helps to hook on the street but pulls greatly on the other end.

I'm going to see how fast I can go on stock turbo first, but know I'm going to want to upgrade as soon as possible.
 
If you are thinking on getting the 44 might be a good idea to just go to the next one up the GT6131e, thats what I am doing. Don't get me wrong the 44 is a awsome turbo.
 
turbo/injectors

msd 50's and pt54 w/alcohol kit has put many buicks in low 11's and even
hi 10's with good combo.54 is a fast spoolin turbo.good luck.
 
Yup.....the PT54 is perfect for a good 3200 stall and some MSD 50# injectors. Great streetability and easy 11's. The 44 or 49 wont make good use of the 3200 stall.
 
Yup.....3200 is a little much for a 44/49.....had an older Stg 3 Cheetah on the T with my Pat's 10"/3200 and it was interesting to drive...lol. It would spool up if you even looked at the throttle funny, nevermind stomping on it, which would result in immediate tire spin. It was just too much like a light switch....reminded me of having a nitrous setup...lol.

I would say go with a 50 or 60 series turbo. The 6131 or 6152 seem to be really popular right now, and for good reason. Very nice street turbo, quick spool up, but with a nice topend pull. That 3200 would work really well with either one. Injector wise, just go with the Motron 60/65's and be done with it.....better to have a nice cushion when it comes to fueling.

Add in the meth with 50's and the pt54 at 25psi should get your mph up near 120mph@3500lbs if everthing else is right on.
