My friend Bill, the guy always at the races with me, needs a good crank out of a 455 BB Pontiac motor.

If anybody has one or knows where one is for a reasonable price let me. I have found some new ones but just need an old stocker in good shape!

TIA!!!!

I have a couple but not parting with them lol. They are hard to find Shane. Tell him to check with the autoparts stores. They can get him one and most of the time you can choose a 10 10 crank. Its extra but worth it. I ordered an Eagle crank for mine that I am building. The price on them has dropped some over the years and you can get one now for a decent price. He can also try evilbay lol. You can get one here for 243 plus 20 shipping which is a GOOD price .

You could also holler at Ken at Kens speed down in flordia. He may have a good used one. Daniel Ray

Thanks Daniel Ray, Brian told me I should just PM you:biggrin:

Please just do yourself a favor and do'nt call a Pontiac shop looking for a Pontiac BIG BLOCK crank, whatever you do!

lol very true Tommy, Many don't know so I am sure they hear it all the time though. Pontiac blocks are basically the exact same on the outside. The bore and stroke is what changes the cubic inches. The only one that was really diffrent was the junk 301 motor. It had a shorter deck height. They never really had a small block or big block as the blocks were the same size . If you have more money than you know what to do with and want to build a killer motor the 350 oldsmobile diesel block is the way to go. NOT the chevy, the oldsmobile block. They have a ton of extra webbing in them and 4 bolt mains as well if I am remembering right. They say that that block can handle a TON of hp when its turned into a gas burner. Did you find one Shane? Daniel Ray

used to know a guy in mt prospect il. that built strictly pontiac motors . i will see if i can find his number for you

x3 on the big block. You'll get the same reaction as if someone asked you about the twin turbos that came on the GNX!! Here's the site for Pontiacs, you'll have no trouble finding one here:

Or just call Ken, he is the man!
