So the pistons I was planning on using will not work for me, and I don't have the time to wait for JE to cut some new ones unfortunately. Anyone have any sitting on the shelf, or awaiting a build that could wait a little longer?

I am running 3.59" stroke and a 6.5" rod, so CH is ~ 1.196 to a max of 1.2

I have two blocks and can run ~4.010 or ~4.030

I know this is a long shot, but need to try just in case. Any help is greatly appreciated.

James

I was so close on your requirements! The only problem was bore size, mine are 4.005. Sorry, the 3.59 stroke combos seem harder to come by . So I guess that I will relist mine in hopes of selling. My block just could not clean up enough to use them. Good luck on your hunt. Ron

Well, I do have a 3.625" crank and another 3.998" rough bore block! What are all the measurements on those pistons? :)

I am not at home, I will find the link that included the pics whenI was selling the pistons before.

Yeah just found those as you posted... What is the compression height and dish volume?

New CP 4.020" 1.227CH 41cc $625.00 shipped
New Wiesco 4.025" 1.220CH $500.00 shipped
What is your deck height?? Mike

I have a 3.99" rough bore block that is 9.4855 DH, and my other two are both 9.512 DH. Those are 4.007 (needing a cleanup) and 4.032 (ready to run).

CH on the short deck block would be a max of 1.19 and max on the other two is 1.217

I also have a 4.00" JE with HD carrillo rods with rings etc. taken out of a Duttweiller motor that was never started.
They are narrow journal rods. Is your crank wide or narrow journal?? Mike

Also just posted these pistons to someone else on here but didnt realize that you could use smaller bore.
4.000" JE , 1.210 CH - 36cc $600.00
4.005" JE , 1.200 CH - 44cc $600.00
4.002" Wiesco Pro Lites 1.200 CH - 20cc $400.00
I believe they are all new (way up on a shelf) . $25.00 shipping. Mike

Personally I would use a thick Cometic gasket to try to raise the deck/head surface back up to around the other blocks.
That would allow you to use the 1.200+or_ CH pistons and NOT need to modify your manifold etc. I can also modify the the top edges of the pistons to lower the CH if required. Mike

Mike,

I have a wide journal.

These pistons look promising but would put me sticking out of the hole .010

I think compressed thickness of my HG is .039, but was hoping to stay .010 in the hole...

4.005" JE , 1.200 CH - 44cc $600.00

So say use a .065" Cometic gasket. That would put the piston back in the hole (gasket is part of the cylinder) allowing you to adjust your desired compression and move the cylinder heads back up into a more standard poisition thus not requireing any special fitment treatment !! You think about it. Mike

Mike, havent ruled this out yet, just checking another option and deciding what parts to use. Will let you know either way. Thank you!

James
