New best on ET with the newly installed 28 x 9 MT ET Drags. This was at 5800 ft altitude (Bandimere, Co). But, had to keep boost down around 24-ish guessing since I only watch the knock guage so only 121-123 mph trap speeds.

Best previous trap speed was 126.5 mph on 275 50 BFG DR's and at least 25+ psi boost. Anyone lose mph going to taller tires? I was happy going through the traps down lower in the torque curve though. No need to blow the thing up if there was knock on the top end...

60- 1.695 (best that night was 1.68 off the foot brake)
1/8- 7.211 @ 96.94
1/4- 11.247 @ 122.48

Felt strong with the newfound traction even if it was losing mph comapred to smaller tire runs... Now I need bigger injectors to go for more boost. Still on the 48#'s and a Jay Carter chip...

I have noticed that all cars will MPH more with radial tires, than running slicks.

Your other runs with radials werent as fast ET wise as this pass correct?
I think the reduction in MPH with slicks is because you lose a tad MPH because you are able to launch harder.

What were your 60's on radials? Probably in the low 1.8s?

Oh, i forgot, NICE TIMES!
Whats the combo and is it a lockup convertor?

60 foots on 225 60 Yokohama AVS Z radials were 2.0x and all over the place...

60 foots on 275 50 DRs were 2.0x to 2.3x- They rubbed the frame on the stock T wheels lately. On less power, I pulled 1.70 60 foots on the DR's back in the day running 11.8 @ 112-115mph with no rubbing. Guess the power was causing the rearend to move around more.

I always heard running slicks meant that you'd lose some mph, but it just never made sense to me...Now I know it's true...

Oh, yeah, 3000 stall PTS 9/11 converter. I need a reflash for the 45a since I used to run a little TE44... Lots of other mods, basics in the sig below.

Nice times up here.
I believe, everything else being equal, you will lose some mph when your e.t. is lower due to the fact you have less time to accelerate.
What day were you at the track?

Thanks. I was there last wednesday TnT... When it started to drizzle the first time I saw a GN leave. No other Buicks there that I saw.

That was me. My wife said she saw another GN run an 11.4x I think. I hung around for a while never saw you run.

Cool, good to know forum members go to the track around here. We'll have to hang out next time at the track. Did you make any runs that night? It was 8 o clock before I made my first run...

I made 2 passes - still a little gun shy - I lost a head gasket a month ago so I am creeping up on the tune slowly. First pass 12.3 @ 108, 2nd pass 11.97 @ 113. Turned the boost up for a third pass, it started to rain, so I left.
I am going again on the 14th for the day test and tune and will probably stay for the night session.

If the weather is nice, I was gonna run the vette this saturday in the stick shift series. I doubt I can make it on the 14th tho. Have fun there...Let us know what you run!

Are you running stock ignition? All GM parts?

New stock replacement coil packs. I custom cut the plug wires from an 8mm Accel V8 kit. Using AC R42 plugs (they might be TS series, I forget) gapped around .027-ish.

As far as other GM stuff, it has stock rods, crank, lower plenum and bowl ported iron 8445 heads:) Most other stuff is non stock off the top of my head. I tried to write it alldown once, but I forgot where I was when I was writing on the 3rd page of modifications...

Non-stock are the basic upgrades, like stock sized manley severe duty valves, comp 941 springs (LT1 style), cometic HGs, arp head studs, arp bellhousing studs and arp intake bolts. I need to put a web page together sometime...I have video of stupid things like pulling the axels and installing wheel studs and other fun stuff...
