i just came back from having my new trans from CK along with a new ptc convertor installed by len freeman and the car feels awesome:D
i would like to thank chris, dusty and len for all their help.

but this is what i also noticed after driving the car on the way home.. after getting on it many times.i was getting close to 25pounds of boost. the car use to only get 20-21 with the other stock combo.. is this normal? or should i be trouble shooting something else:confused:

dont feel right getting on it with the extra boost and 45 degree weather:redface:

Glad to hear it all worked out.I dont think the combo would change boost levels unless you had a converter issue before killing engine rpm. That probably could be answered by one of the engine guys around here.

one last question.. the 1 shift comes around at 10mph and 2k rpms at normal driving conditions.. is this to early? just wanna know if it needs any adjustments

That sounds right, main thing is the cable is adjusted so that you get a low speed 2/1 kickdown @ wide open throttle. If you want to verify this, take off real slow and as soon as the trans shifts to 2nd ,floor it and it must backshift to 1st.

I saw a 3-4psi boost increase with no other changes switching from an AC 16930 to a PTC 9.5". It just loads the engines a lot harder than the AC converter did. Flash stall with the AC was around 5100. The PTC was at 4400 on the same engine even with the added boost from the added load. PTC 9.5" converters are magic

ok, thanks bison.. i thought i was a little crazy for blaming it on the new setup but i guess it is possible. like i stated that was the only two things that changed. now i gotta figure out how to lower the boost, i tried lowering it by messing with the hd actuator and that didnt help.

You shouldnt be using an HD actuator for sub 25 psi boost. The spring is too stiff. Looking at the parts in your sig you should be targeting 25-30 psi to make it work really well anyway. 10.0 with 30psi no problem with a converter change. 9's with traction and a converter change.

bison that is the goal of boost in the future.. but till i get good at tuning i dont wanna run more then 20-21.. thanks

bison i also started a thread in the tech section about a boost control that the car has and i dont know how it works, if you have a chance check it out..thanks

Id run the std actuator till you are ready for more boost.
