New DR record set this weekend on the M/T 275/60/15 drag radial..

Just thought I'd pass this along although it is not Buick related... Steve Short's turbo Mustang that runs in the PSCA Wild Street class (this is a DR class where the biggest tire allowed is a 275/60/15) set a new record running 7.97 @180mph... That's right 7's on a little 275/60/15 Radial tire!!!!!

I've been looking all day on the Mustang BB's for some details and I haven't found anyone mentioning this feat..

BTW, Congrats on Dees car getting into the 7's on DRs at Orlando! I was there and saw it in action.... Took a few pit pics of his car and posted it in this thread..

I know what ya mean. I don't know exactly what the HP numbers are on these 7 second cars (1700hp? or more) but a lot of the turbo cars weigh 3500+lbs and run 185mph. That's a lot of power that I don't think the V6 can make as easy and run those numbers at the weight that is needed to hook on DR's. The MT DR's will make it easier at a lighter weight but these cars are no feather weights.
