Hey,
Just bought my first GN today. It's a clean all original 87.
Got it from the second owner....he's a guy I work with and he'd owned it since '91.
98K original miles.
Got it for $6K

A member here named Rafael followed us into a parking lot where were getting the smog test done. He asked if the car was for sale....my buddy told him he was selling it to me. Rafael asked how much....when my buddy said $6K, Rafaels mouth dropped wide open.

I was having a hard time not doin' a little dance, but was still trying to act like no big deal cuz I didn't want the price to jump up on me before I got things sealed.

Anyway...lot's of questions so off to the tech boards.

Tim

welcome. please post some pics of your new ride.

New guy on the Block

Welcome to the Turbo Buick World. These cars are unique nothin quite like them when it comes to each car's idiosyncrsies. These little Six guns are Fun though. If you got your new ride for only 6K you should have alot of money left over to do a good thorough spring cleaning, and 1st and foremost get a New Scan Tool like a ScanMaster so you can start off on the right foot before you start crankin up the Boost. Before you know it that extra money will burn a hole in your pocket and you will be bolting on a new CPT 61turbo and 60 Motron injectors, a new TTchip, SS DP, new valve-springs, Translator with 3.5" LS1 Maf, a AFPR and FPG, FP, , a Razor alky kit, cold air kit, a stretched SLIC, DR's. There are some top Notch knowledgeable members here that are willing to help people out, you will learn alot from them. Welcome Mean Chicken

o also the search key is your friend.. theres days and days of reading. ahead of you.

Hey, Rafael.
Shoulda seen your face  when the seller said $6K!

I was trying not to giggle like a school girl.
Think I did good? ;)

The guy knew what he was selling, but he was giving me a good buddy bargain. I've been buggin' him for 2 years now.

I'll definitely swing through Fuddruckers if I can get out of work in time.
How late do you stay there?

Tim

Tim: Welcome to TurboBuick.com & TB.com Southwestern Section. Glad to see you got a stellar deal on the GN.

meanchicken.......

welcome to the darkside,
as you learn more, you quickly find out, theses cars can be a money pit,
but are so unique.
to most of the general population, they are a mystery. please feel free to ask alot of questions, and to check out the cars locally.
if your so inclined, there will be the "west coast nationals" in Phoenix the 3 days following thanksgiving. alot of the local guys are attending, and is worth a trip, just to watch, and to meet and greet fellow buick nuts.
OH, by the way, I'll give you $6500 for that old grampas car!! LOL
some of the guys attend Irwindale on thursday eve's, post up in this section, and please plan to attend some get togethers.
Again welcome!

welcome aboard bud,

Now before you go off and start building her up, invest in a good alarm and LO-JACK! or something, our cars are highly desireable(?) I hate it when a fellow buick brother start a stolen car thread:mad: , most of us spend big bucks on turbo's and heads but expect a $200 dollar alarm to really protect our cars:rolleyes: , good luck , and welcome aboard mustang owners will fear you monte owners will wish they were you:eek: :D
