Barry Grant has released a pair of new fuel pumps. His ad claims they both support 2000 HP.
One is the King Enduro for carbs and the other is the King Sumo for FI systems.
Supposedly 1000PPH at 60psi. No heat, motor is fuel cooled, built in 8 micron filter, dry break, vertical or horizontal mounting, no leaks from shaft.
I looked for a price on this bad boy and found none.
Anyone have the pricing and/or some feedback??

Could be a good streeter pump, if all is true..;) ;)

A bit more info. No prices on the website, but the pump has an intregal bypass and as such says it needs no return line!

Sounds nice!
I would like more info on this too as I need to upgrade fuel components.

TIA

Hmm.Let's see:
Internal fuel relief.
No heat.
Fuel cooled motor element.
No heat.
I got a bridge you might want to buy.
It goes no where,but........
We had few guys up here running B.G. pumps on HIGH h/p carbed app's[weekend warriors],and they all seem to have had problems with the B.G. stuff[might have something to do with Sunoco 94 fuel].
One guy took his pump apart and found the thrust plate for the pumping element was scored, lowering his pressure.
Resurfaced the plate and got a new o-ring.Done,now sits in a box.
He went back to the Holley "blue" pump and has had Zero problems.
The max relief pressure of 75 psi, indicates something to me.
The returnless system using the internal bypass, could be fun to control as well.

Figured out??

Damn! I'm impressed that it's all figured out!! I'm REALLY glad I didn't buy one! I'd be in with all the pro teams that use his pumps.. sitting on the pit bike, watching those w/ the Holley stuff win the races!!

Agreed, How long has BG been selling fuel pumps? Just cause one guy had a problem doesnt mean they are all bad. These new pumps look very nice! I called Summit they are on order and should have them in 1-3 weeks the pump needed is part #170042 King Sumo $468 This one would be comparable to a weldon between models 2025 & 2035. Its definately worth a look.

Perhaps you missed it the first time guy,the B.G. internal bypass is set at 75 psi. He's protecting his pump because he doesn't trust his motor drive element to push the pump element much higher.
You want to push high boost? You may find yourself bouncing off the internal bypass and coming up short on F/P[factory tolerances you know-could be ~73.5-76.5].
You should have at least 10-15 psi "headroom" for the pump max outlet pressure.
That ain't got it.
Of course,they're your parts.:D

Chuck, I'll ask the guy I get my BG stuff from. I just bought an $1100 BG system for a 1000HP Chevy Rat, I figure he owes me some answers.

What would be the advantage in a street car to this setup compared to one of Red's in-tank double pumpers? The DP is cheaper, requires no sump or tank mods and installs in 2 hours or so. It also seems to flow more at higher pressures. Is it these externals flow a lot more at the lower pressures? Are they more reliable or something? Every external I have ever seen seems to be louder than my DP, not that you could hear either one over my exhaust. Sorry I am just clueless.

We have those pumps for the same price. I saw them at PRI last week, they look very nice. The big Aeromotive pumps move just as much fuel and are cheaper. The return rate on Aeromotive is lower as well. Most of the very big pumps require some sort of voltage step down box for continuous duty (street) applications I am not sure about these though.
