Installed a new B&M MegaShifter a little while back and lost the instructions. I have those two switches that I need to hook up, one for neutral safty and the other for the reverse lights. Where are the wire I need to tap into to make those work properly? What color are they and how hard is it to hook that stuff up. My motor is out right now so I figure it will be much easier with it out. Any suggestions or input helps. Thanks

Anyone know where the nuetral saftey switch is at? If its mechanical or not?

The neutral safety switch is in the steering column. It is a round plate that gets turned and has holes in it that have to line up for it to engage or not(actually the whole bottom portion of the column turns below the steering wheel). The stock shifter has linkage that comes off the side of the tranny and runs all the way up into the engine bay and connects to the steering column and it turns the plate. You may be able to just leave that linkage hooked up with your new shifter. If you didnt remove any linkage that comes off the tranny when you put your new shifter in, then your stock switch should still be working. And before you say well my car is floor shift so it wont have this, trust me it does. Its a pretty wierd set up. Next time you put your car in gear watch the area on your column where the column shifter would be. It will rotate. I never even noticed this until I went to figure out why my reverse lights werent workingand someone told me what to look for, as they are run off the same linkage.

Your right it is a very weird setup. I installed the shifter about a year ago and every time I go to the track they bug the hell outta me to get my neitral safty and reverse lights working. So my shifter came with two switchs so that I can hookup the saftey and the lights but you are saying if I put the stock shifter linkage to the column back in along with my new linkage I dont have to rewire anything? I didnt even think of that! If this is what you are tryin to tell me let me know and you may have just saved me a BUNCH of time. Thanks

Yes, if you can somehome get your stock linkage hooked back up with the new shifter then your stock reverse light switch and your stock neutral safety switch will work again. Im not sure if you kept the stock plate that you hook your shifter cable to on the side of your trans or not, but if you did then all you should have to do is put your parts back in. If not you will have to fab up a plate that will let you hook up your shifter cable as well as the linkage. Either way it should be very simple.

If you have the stock piece that attaches to the trans for the shifter rod you can weld that piece to the B&M shifter piece and have the best of both worlds...with neutral safety...back-up lights...etc...that's how mine is setup...here's a pic of how it should be welded...when attaching it to the trans the nut won't go as far as before because the piece is now thicker...just use some Locktite and it will be OK...

i didn't even weld mine. i just stuck the stock linkage on then the b&m and then tightened down and its been working for 2 years daily driver

Its been about a year since I did my shifter. Anyone have a picture of what the stock linkage looks like together to refresh my memory?

I went the other way!

Looks like i went against the majority. I simply did away with the stock linkage. The only part on my transmission is the Mega-Shifter. Then I directly wired the new switches, (that comes with unit,) on the new shifter. As for the column, I secured it so it will no longer rotate as it did with the stock linkage.
