Sunday Noonish Steve's house works for me....probably will be working around the house on Saturday, gotta luv New Construction.

Just got home from Minake on Diamond SPrings (decent exhaust work there). Took me 3 hours. My exhaust was squeeking... turned out to be a missing bolt up near where my cut-out is. Anyway. free of charge, but they asked me to lay some rubber in the side street near their shop. I did it... Then noticed white smoke from under the hood. boooooo. Ended up pulling over at Shore and Independ. cause temps went to 200... Ended up splitting the 'S' shapted hose that goes from the water pump to manifold. Ended up buying some tape, rags, and water. Wrapped it in rags and taped it up, filled the system back up and limped all the way from shore drive to Bonney Rd (@264). Had to pull over 3 times to refil and wait for temps to drop. UGH! When I saw the smoke, I instantly thought "HEAD GASKET!" BOOOO! Off to the parts store to find a hose now... and get antifreeze...... grrrrrrrrr....

So in case anyone was having a bad day, maybe this makes you feel like it wasn't so bad... ;)

Um, as a follow up to the previous story..... Where the heck do I get that little hose? The parts guys have no idea what I'm talking about.

It's the hose that goes from the back of the water pump to the manifold. maybe the bypass hose? not sure if mine is the same as it was when it was stock,... Anyone?

The dealer,or one of the venders on the board. It's about $20 bucks plus shipping. I have a used one here if you need one till you can get a new one. Also if you are cheap like me,you can go to advance and look there molded hose. You have to get them to let you behind the counter. Match one thats close and then cut and strech it. It works just as well. But you have to be creative in your thinking.:D

It's the 'S' shaped by-pass. Kirban has it.. Ugh! No car for me Sunday unless I can get ahold of a hose... :(

---Ron

Just ordered one from Kirban. 34.99 after shipping... >sigh< At least it's not a head gasket...

Soooo.... About that spare hose.......

---Ron

You didn't want to go to advance and see how to get one for $6. Get it Sat AM put it on and your good for Sunday!

Getting a "S" shape from vendor $34.99, getting it from Advance Auto $6.00, getting it Saturday from Steve, be a little creative and have fun on Sunday = Priceless!!!

Um... I'm just doing my part to support our much loved Buick vendors... ;) That's how I rationalize the $30+....

Looking forward to the rain stopping so I can get a hose back on there... I'm still glad it was just a hose.... I've had so many problems with getting this car running properly, it would have just fit the mold. I've got some great stories to tell you about certain vendors who are now out of buisness... Loads of fun...

Thanks for the help guys!

Steve! What time Saturday would be good to swing by for your hose? uh... that sounds terrible.........

I have a new hose laying around here somewhere if you still need it

Hey guys I would love to meet up but I have to work Sunday :( . I should be under the hood tomorrow of one of my traps. Have to finish up the wiring, drop the injectors back in and fire her up. I trying to run down a bad miss on 6 and 8. Steve I haven't forgot about your offer to do my trannys :D .

I appreciate it. Already ordered it from Kirban though. I had no idea these hoses were prone to exploding like that. Anyone else had trouble with this?

Additionally, I seem to remember putting an additive in with my coolant for the aluminum heads... RMI-25 I think. Any way to get this stuff locally or do I need to go through a vendor?

Marc,I forgot about You!:D There are lots buicks popping up in the area!

Speaking of trannys, the White T has a bad leak that started this AM. My wife just drove it to work anyways:rolleyes: Got home tonite about 10PM and looked under it:eek: can't tell where yet but looks pump related. Tommorrow will tell. Gonna have to get that spare trans together ASAP.
