Well the search continues...:frown: I went by and checked this car out, doesnt even have seats in the car  How can you test drive a car without seats..wtf. The rear of the car looked like it was glued back on, you can see some type of white bondo/glue in the seams. eckkkkk, I'll keep looking.

Buickbert, the car was in tempe...

Be patient... You'll find one!! I got a 84 GN with 53000 miles in Nov. 2003 for $6600. I've had the car buffed out, repaired a spot on driver's seat, and go to the car shows now- that's it... ;)

Beautiful car! It's kind of a shame though, the car is so rare and beautiful that it doesn't get to see the open road much.

The adventure continues...I decided to up my looking price and ran across an '86 GN. The body was in good shape, the paint looked nice, the interior was clean and the car ran pretty good (had a slight hesitation). The guy was asking $8900 originally but said he would knock off a $1000 because it will not pas emissions in AZ (needs a cat installed). Well, I got home and checked out the VIN, it is really an 84 GN that has been intercooled converted.. A lot of unethical people out there!

Just to make sure I'm not missing something here, the VIN number never lies right?

Just to double check my sanity, the VIN# is 1G4AK4799EH493630...

OK, called the guy back, he read off the VIN code from the dash and it is an '86 code. Looks like maybe the rear trunk lid was replaced?

Now that i have the GNX i dont feel bad about what im doing to the 85 GN..its been stock so far ,so why Trash the GNX when i can have some real fun with the 85 that has better paint ? Hell, when I take the GNX out people are like nice GN my buddy had one of those.I say really your buddy had a GNX ? They still say yeah it was a GNX...What ever..It is cool when someone who knows about the GNX see's this car...they are amazed..Thats the guys i like to show it to...Usually give them a Quick spin down the road...This weekend i was pulling out of an autoparts store and all the employees were waiting outside to see how the car sounded..I told them it will sound diffrent. They said because its a 6 cylinder.I said no because all youll hear is the tires ripping the asphalt..So thats what happened and then in second gear the car went really sideways in the intersection..A show for everyone i suppose..I didnt slow down ,just straightened her up ..needless to say she doesnt rack up a lot of miles but the 1/4 miles at a time are a blast........

Pretty common to replace the trunk lid in the NE part of the country. I would look for a 86/87 if your looking for performance. I bought my car new in 2-84 and everyone said to park it, it will be worth money some day..... Let's just say that I never did park it and had more fun with the car then should be legal.
