have "blown" up my turbo (percision te62)
exhuast side came apart, lots of smoke, etc.
*
have sent off to see if can rebuild or not. either way will be getting a new/rebuild turbo soon.
what is needed when replacing the turbo?
like--change the oil?
new lines?
clean/flush the intercooler?
*
here is current set up--
te62 turbo, msd 50 injectors, 70mm throttle body, champion aluminum heads, cam 214/214, smc alky, kb header, kb intake, 9 in non lock up convertor, commander chip, etc
*
should i go back with the same turbo (if it cannot be rebuilt)?
can i go bigger? should i go better?
best it went was just into the 11's. what can i expect?
*
any info or positive comments are appreciated.

BULL.

When I replaced my turbo years ago I used a new oil feed line (hard line) and a new gasket for the oil drain tube. The oil in my car never sees 500 miles before it is changed.

Only thing you need to replace are the gaskets, changing the oil won't hurt, but not necessary, if you see oil in the throttle body there will probably be some residue in the intercooler so cleaning that wont be a bad idea either, other than that, its pretty simple to do. Just make sure you prime the new turbo before the engine runs.
