I have a pump 1/2 that has the stator support in it,it has grooves in the housing that won't sand out with paper. If I remove the stator and get it machined (like a flywheel) will this be ok? If so about how much material is safe to remove before we have other issues.

I have a friend with a lathe

He cleaned up a few for me. Told him if it took more than .020--toss them. I have run some of these with no problem. IMO, a fine line is ok.
