Somebody please tell me what "showroom stock" car under $250,000 is capable of running 11.5's?

I think NHRA is trying to encourage a little more action at the tracks instead of inhibiting it:)

Porshe 911 Turbo AWD does 11.8. Viper does like 12.2

Is that "magazine times" or local track times?

Friday night a new Viper turned a 13.2 as his best of the night.:)

Don't think a pompus owner of a new $100k+ Porshe would ever visit our local track!:D

I've been disapointed with the times I've seen generated by the new vipers vs. their "magazine" times. Car and driver ran the new roadster to 122 mph in the 1/4.

But at our 1 mile shootout, my Pontiac 2+2 ran as fast as the Viper in the standing mile (157 mph) and there is no frickin' way it runs 112 in the 1/4, let alone 122.

My big problem with the NHRA rules was 13.9 for roll bars for convertibles: Corvette, Cobra, Porsche, BMW, etc., etc. convertibles have run quicker than 13.9 for nearly 10 years.
