heard to whupped up on a rice car last weekend.
you ok,? hows the car? what do you need?
bad news travels fast man!

sorry to hear about it!

Did I mention to Jeff the other day that I broke an axle when I launched?

There was a slight mess when the car made a hard left turn across the 60' lights and bounced off a new Honda.

New 33 spline axles and header panel should be here next week, so I can go play again soon!;)

Wow, that is some bad news.

Atleast it was a Honda, if it were a fast Honda you would have probably missed it...lol

Glad you are ok Nick.

nick, sorry to hear this. you got any pics of the damage? what size axles where you running?

Yea, I got wind of it earlier this week,

Jeff called me to ask some questions and mentioned it , said you were running 30 spline?
glad you and everyone was unhurt, ( honda, who cares! LOL )
so the old buford is making some horse power eh?
glad to hear your upgrading, so what are you gonna weld on? did ya get a wire feed? heck just get some rubber rod and weld that header panel back together!
take care old fart, ( from one old fart to another)
see ya at the drags!

Sorry to hear, Nick, but glad that you are unhurt and that you didn't take out another Buford with you.

Nick. If you have any great aspirations for the car, you should go to 35 spline, since you're having to do the upgrade anyway.

Don,
I think 33 spline is as big as you can go with an 8.5" rear. Cal ran in the mid 8's with this setup.

If Nick is still using an 8.5 then he has to use what he can. Actually, I use a 33 spline also. It's just that I've been seeing evidence from other racers at the track that 35 spline would be better for a 8.50 capability. After doing some checking on it too, a 35 spline is more suited.

Yeah, a 33 spline will get you by, but then, you can do 8s with a 109 block too.

Don,
If they were available; I would have gone to 35's. You would think that NHRA would have a recommendation on axle splines based on vehicle weight and et.
Jeff

The thing that tripped me up was when I was picking out the rearend and axle arrangement, I had a certain performance target I was shooting for. We all know what happens with targets. They start to move.
