Just finished my first rebuild according to Chris' book. Installed the trans and it has a chirping noise for 10 or 15 seconds that turns into a sound more like a stuck hydraulic lifter taping. After awhile, it will go away, then do it again the next time you start the motor. It is occuring with every revolution of the motor. I have 85 psi in Park and forward gears and 130 in Reverse without the TV cable connected. It will go in rev and all forward gears but I have not tried it on the street yet to see if it will change gears. Sounds like it coming from the converter area. Convertor is new 3000 stall. filled with 12 quarts. Any ideas?
