Getting my car ready for paint. Old grill looks pretty good, but NOS grill, is, well, NOS. Which should I use? NOS grill is on the left. I guess the pic didn't come out too well.

How perfect is the rest of the car?

It will be a driver with a damn good paint job (I hope). Bodyman has been painting cars for 40 years. He has his own shop but it isn't real big. He will paint the doors, hood, trunk, first, which are removed from the car. Then he will trailer the car in and finish the job. Job includes wet sanding and buffing. I have an old set of Lier Sigler seats that need new leather. I may buy it from NOS4GN along with new carpet. I'll have the door panels done in leather too. Can you say S...W...E...E...T?

I was in the same situation - got my car back from paint & I couldn't help but to put the the new grill and headlight bezels in.

The were new GM and the old stuff looked okay, but I figured better on the car than a shelf in the garage.

Do you mean, NOS, as in I'm saving it as a spare, or it's worth a bunch of money and I want to save it for another 20 years and cash in? That's what I'm thinking you're saying. They have this new exciting invention out there. It's called semi-flat or semi-gloss black even in quality epoxy. It's probably too complicated for you to understand, but the guy who is painting your car to make it look like new, can do exactly the same thing with your old grille. Make it look new. It's a shocker, I know.

I might not know much, but I can spell B..A...N..N...E...D..! The board was much more pleasant without you, RED REGAL T!!!! Go ahead, say something stupid again, and maybe you will get kicked out for good :)

If it were my car and I was getting all that work done, I would just go with the new stuff. I know a lot of people choose the cheaper route on our cars but to me it's the better way to go. Let's see some pics when it's done! :)

Red Regal T: I am curious about something, about 10 years ago I joined this site, looked at it nearly every day and even posted from time to time then I quit because there were a couple of guys that were well........DICKS. About a year or so ago I came back and thought I'd give it another try because there is so much to be shared and learned on here and it seems like people are much more friendly and less snobbish than I remember from 10 years ago. So my question to you is, were you on here 10 years ago and are you.......well........a DICK?

OP asked for an opinion, not a snotty dbag remark.

Rick, I would repaint the old one and save the new one for a rainy day.

You have to excuse Red....he's just an idiot. But he'll tell you it is his constitutional right to insult people.

Thanks! That's what I was leaning towards. The old one still looks real good. The headlight bezels still look good too, but I'll probably hit them with some paint.

LMAO!! I found this post funny...rude?? maybe, but I got a laugh out if it... can't we all just get along:D

You got it so use it & enjoy it on your fresh paint car!!
Not like it's gonna make you rich one day!

I never say anything stupid. I was banned because I'm not permitted to share my opinions in the political forum. I've been gagged, because 99% of those who participate there are afraid to hear the truth. You speak as though being banned is something terrible. It's all about people who want to silence opinions they don't agree with. Real Americans believe in free speech but because of the police state America is moving towards, silencing one's fellow Americans is commonplace.

hmmmm, thanks for pointing out the obvious, you're still a dbag.

C'mon! Lighten up! If all it takes is his comments to get everyone mad then wow you guys have short fuses! What happens when people thru life & in person make retarded comments to you?
Does eyeryone freak or just let it go because you know where it came from & know their past history.
Some people just have no manners & he is getting there from what I've read but this is a Free Speech board. (to a certain degree But do Not say any Bad about a Paying Vendor!) ;)

That's just it, newbie. I did point it out, and all you did was repeat what I said, and the OP, who should have posted this matter in the right forum, didn't think it was so obvious.
