Rick, this is just my opinion....if that nice GN were my car, I'd paint the old grill and headlight trims to use on it....keep the NOS in storage for an emergency, like a rock breaking the trims or grill....it does happen....that is if you plan on driving it a lot. Always nice to have a NOS for spares....I have some NOS pieces I bought just to keep in case the enevitable happens, as in getting scratched up, hit, broken, chipped, etc....I bought them at a cheap price years and years ago for spares, not to keep to make money. Never know what can happen in the future.....

Case in point: my late Dad has his GN painted, took one month, then one month later, some pieces of trash stole it......and got the car back one month later by the police....trash up some. When Dad gave it to me before he passed away, I had to buy a lot of parts for it back in 2002 to replace all the damaged parts the trash did. Glad I did, as I usually bought TWO of what I needed then....I knew the GN would be more expensive to fix in the future.

Just my opinion here. Glad you're getting a nice paint job.

Nope, I go in the other direction. A new paint job deserves the best. I put the NOS stuff on the car and save the old stuff for the emergencies. 10 years from now when the 16 year old whacks the trash can and cracks the grill the older one will match the paint more, the new one would look out of place.

Here is my thinking. I will probably use the old one. I know the paint will look nice, but the car will not be brought up to original specs. The motor has been modded, along with the transmission, exhuast, you get the picture. If I wanted it to be exact like when it rolled off the assembly line, then I would use the NOS grill. Of course, if NOS grills were still being made and could be had for a reasonable price, then I would use the NOS grill. Thanks for (almost) everybody's input :D

Your car is not original and never will be so why save the NOS. So that you can return it to original? It will never happen. Eventually you will get rid of the car never having used a nice piece. Nice paint, too bad the grill isn't as nice as the rest of the car. To each his own.
