The GN's had the grey ones.

Did the T-Types have grey as well or where they black?

I am about 90% sure that T's had gray valve stem caps like the GNs. Why? Here is a picture of a T that Reggie Jackson owned. Notice the caps! (Original Tires too)

Interesting info. Anyone else care to corroborate or dispute this info?

I really like that color combo in that "T" BTW..:p

grey caps

I know 87 t`s have them not sure on 86. You can find the caps still on the spares when your in the junk yards looking for parts! kirban sells them also

Every 86-87 TR had them. If you're looking in the boneyard make sure they have the smooth tops and not the tit on top.

You can take this to the bank. All 1986-1987 Turbo Regals except GNXs had grey valve stem caps. The factory original grey valve stem caps did have the small tit on the top. The smooth top ones are repros that we sell. We also have sell originals as well. If you need further proof if you have an original spare in your trunk it will have the correct grey cap on it you are seeking.

Not to disagree with the above person, but I am positive about this fact. If still in doubt ask on the forum for owners to check their spare tire in their trunk and tell you what grey valve stem cap is on it. If it has never been disturbed it will be a grey cap with a tit on the top.

owned a few over the years some even with original air in the tires.

Hi, The above person here.
I get all of my smooth tops out of the boneyard now. It probably goes either way. I just see more of the Dill brand titty caps on the new cars. Back in the late 80's,early 90's I would swap out the gray caps with black ones on the new Chevys out on the lot. I don't recall to many titty caps on the 91 Caprices. You can still buy gray valve stem caps from GM. You just have to buy the valve stem to get them is all. The last time I checked they were still smooth tops.;)

So, to be 100% period correct we need the "nippled" grey caps and NOT the smooth grey caps? Right?

that is correct nippled top or as some refer to it has the little tit on the top...not smooth. We have sold hundreds and hundreds of the smooth grey ones because at the time we never could find enough of the correct ones.

I have correct originals if you need them. I never claim to be an expert on engine problems or related specs but when it comes to what is correct in appearance on these cars I usually am correct based on the high number of these cars I have bought and sold.

If your spare tire has never been desturbed in your trunk see what valve stem cap is on that.

past owner of many many 1986-1987 Turbo Regals sold world wide.

We need a sub-forum called "Kirbans 2 cents worth".

It would be worth a lot more than 2 cents to me.

I like the idea....I figure I need a standard opening line. I try to mix up my endings since it would require a lot of wasted space to list cars that I have owned sold etc.
I do appreciate all the comments I have been getting.
