This happened literally one block from where I live.
I am just wondering if this story has made it across the country.
Imagine if your deployed to Iraq and you get the news that this happened to your wife and kid.
Police To Discuss Charges In Shooting Of Mom, Son - Local News Story - KNSD | San Diego

Any thoughts.

Also, just this morning, saw the start of a chase by the border patrol. I saw him following the guy and turn on his lights, guy acted like he was gonna pull over and then took off with the agent in pursuit. The chase took the next exit and thats the last I saw.
Interesting morning.

I'd love to see police incinitives, like extra pay if they serve a term w/ the military, (that way they'd learn to serve the country vs their own ego) In my area police rarely serve or protect, they collect crime info after the fact, and major on minor issues.....like coming to a 2 sec. complete dead stop like I got ticketed for......there is so much crime in my area and that's how they choose to spend time.
There is a reason police have a bad name, many earn it for the whole group. (Don't even get me started on driving a nice car, or the large number of roid raged police)

LMAO!!!
But if an American Citizen does it they are called a criminal.

Traitors should be hung!

And im sure your job requires you to put urself in harms way.... It's easy to judge from the sidelines. Put urself in that situation and then come back in comment. The Monday morning quarterbacks of the world... Didn't know Police Officers in the US were not American Citizens.

Shooting at an unarmed lady and her kid is uncalled for. That cop should not have followed her in that lot. That is an out of control cop. Then again she might have told him she had a gun and he drew his but he should not have fired his weapon. That is a bad situation all around . I dont bash cops because if i was one i would have my gun out on every traffic stop:eek: I know alot of cops and when i tell them that they just laugh.

does anyone know the whole story? no. the media reports little information to make some people think what really happened but you do not know the whole story. so don't make assumptions.

Many of them are traitors, so as a citizen, they should be hung.

There is no excuse for cops to violate any laws. As the enforcers, not protectors as so many believe, they should not even give the appearance of an infringement of any law.

When they put on the badge and gun they must shed the human emotion that drives most persons to be competitive. If one becomes a bar tender they should not complain about drunks - cops know they have to deal with dirt bags and need to drop the attitude and just focus on the law.

The First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments are commonly violated. The excuse is: Tell it to the judge.

What my job is has nothing to do with it. Just like the quarterback comment - an attempt to distract from the real issues:rolleyes:

In Gaithersburg a cop chased a person that resulted in a crash that killed a pedestrian. The only thing the cop knew was a headlight was burned out. At that point it made no difference if the person turned out to be an ax murderer - violated the rules about high speed chases and now some party that had nothing to do with the event is dead.

Last year on the Capitol Beltway, cop chases a motorcycle. Speeding is the only known violation but the cop thought he could split lanes in his car and rammed a few cars killing at least one. Again, chase procedures violated.

In Northern VA, cops shoot and kill an accountant because he had people over for gambling. Not like this guy was the mob, he was playing cards!

And then there was just some recent lovers flap; the cop settled the argument with a bullet.

There is more, look it up.

You, or your parent, or friend might be one of the good cops, but when I am out with The Man, it makes me sick to listen to the stories. Hard to feel that way because I have very old and close friends that are cops, but I would be a hypocrite for altering my feelings just because I do not want to put friends in that group.

Some of those police incidents sound like bad cops, but the story about the car with the burned out headlight running...that's not the cop's fault. If you run from a cop when he is chasing you, you just gave him a damn good reason to pursue. That's how they catch a lot of drug runners...

So your citing examples of people running from the police and as a result a citizen is killed. And that's the Cops fault? I hope your joking with that comment.

And the person violating the law by engaging Police in pursuit had nothing to do with the citizen being killed right? The Cops don't kill people when they attempt to enforce the law. The criminals do when they violate the law. So according to you when someone fails to stop for the police the Cops should just let everyone go? How long do you think it would be before any criminal would stop for the police if that was the case?

I don't see you citing any examples of Cops who have lost their lives pursuing criminals after failing to obey the law and stop their car when being pulled over. Right, it's only the citizens lives that count.

This is not Star Trek, we don't have laser guns that can stop people from miles away. Cops have to actually pursue criminals to catch them when they refuse to stop lawfully. The criminal who refused to stop was the reason the citizen was killed. Not the Police.

It's funny how people fail to mention all the murders, rapists, serial killers, etc... that have been arrested and taken off the street after a vehicle pursuit from a headlight that was burned out:rolleyes:. Do you think murders, rapists, serial killers display banners on their cars when driving down the road to help the police identify them?

How many kilos of Herion or Cocaine do you think are transported via Motorcycles from Baltimore City to Washington DC? More then you could count. It's one of the most effective ways of the transportation of narcotics that exists but that's ok right? Oh yea, I forgot, the chase procedures.

Narcotics make up 70% of all violent crimes. Again, do you think the drug curriers display banners that they are transporting illegal narcotics? When your kid gets hooked on Herion and dies from an overdose im sure you will be ranting about police chase procedures.

Hey Greg...

Traffic Stops lead to bigger and better things, like apprehension of homicide offenders and large siezures of dope and guns. Do the job first so ur criticism is based on fact, not opinion.

Were you not paying attention? Deadly Force was used for violations that everybody on this board is guilty of: an Equipment Violation and Speeding

Would I stop - damn right.
and put the window down
and turn on the interior lights
and leave my hands on the steering wheel
and I would not start with any BS like nothing better to do, or an ignorant comment about the taxes I pay.

It makes no difference if an ax murderer is found, ALL THAT WAS KNOWN was nothing that calls for deadly force. That is why there are pursuit rules. None of those persons were known to be dangerous.

The debate about the chase/no chase rules for cops is a different topic but ends up with simple circular logic arguments. That is why many departments have decided to only chase under certain situations.

The belief that no expense or risk should be spared is the reason people get killed for stupid stuff, the reason we spend Billions on cops, courts, jails, and the infrastructure that goes with it, and the reason the "land of the free" has more people locked-up then any other nation on Earth.

If a kid gets hooked it is the parents fault not the dealer - like you said THEY DON'T ADVERTISE. Drugs are something Americans want or it would not be the big business that it is - CIA/Iran-Contra -...

Give it up - drugs are just an easy villain to point at and the people the low hanging fruit to pick on. I did not bring this subject up but we should legalize all of it to get it and the crime it causes, under control. The expenses saved would be massive, and then the income it would produce would be even more massive. Prohibition has never worked and we continue to prove it everyday.

Cigarettes have always been legal and I don't use them - just because it is legal does not mean we all have to start sticking needles in our arms...but it might thin out the heard a bit, and that is not a bad thing

You have such a vivid imagination, as evidenced by your post - putting words in my mouth that I did not say!!!!! And then arguing on that different position (that is called a strawman).
You have proven your prejudice and lack of ability to conduct a principled debate so have fun getting angry - I'm back the Buick tech section where I spend 99.99% of my time here.

Having worked in law enforment for 10 years (7 military/3 civilian) I can say that violation of procedures/SOP's has resulted in more of my friends and co-workers getting days off/ losing pay than I'd like to remember. Most Officers are of upstanding morale character and really take their job to heart. Many times I'd see people getting slammed over stupid stuff, complaints that really had no bearing on anything. Then again the reason I left my job to go back in the military (besides to kill Al Qaeda) was because of the small percentage of Cops who fall into the "I wanna be on Cops mentality". These individuals should be fishermen/hunters looking for the big catch, unfortunately sometimes while trying to force something they will scare somebody into doing something stupid. This sometimes results in some of the headlines posted above. I still have friends in the Department, but would not really want to do their job these days....

Dude, cmon. Get a grip.

Brett it's not worth arguing. He sees things his way and no amount of arguing can change that. He has no idea what the job is like and how it should be done. The worst part is when they are jurors:mad:
