My dipstick on my 87 Turbo-T is missing the grommet inside the top of the dipstick. Will buy whole dipstick or just the grommet. I have tried using several different grommets and can't quite get it to seal up properly.

Sorry guy but they don't have a grommet in them. I have an NOS one for $55 and $10 to buy a tube and ship it in.
PS. That's just what I paid for it 2 years ago. Thanks Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike, don't know if it is a grommet or not, maybe you can look at yours and tell me. My friend sent me a pic of his and there is definitely something black in there. Mine is all metal, and I get a little oil seeping out of it. Let me know or send me a PM. Thanks Jeff.

Iv'e looked at lots of them, never seen a grommet in one. My nos one doesn't have a grommet in it either.

Not sure, my buddy sent me a pic of his and there is some kind of insert in there. Maybe a couple of others can check their dipsticks and report back.

my buddies car has some sort of rubber grommet inside the tube....Ive seen it and not sure what it is..mine never had it and it was a very low mileage take out in 1989.

These dip sticks came with NO grommet in them. Yes I believe guys have put some kind of grommet, o-ring ect. in them because of oil coming out of the dip stick tube but if that's the case you have other problems going on.

I am just getting so seepage down the side of the dipstick tube, maybe I should check the pcv, any other ideas?
