oil filter flow direction?

Does the oil flow into the filter via the large center hole, then the filtered oil flows out of the small holes along the outer edge?
Just checking....

Also, by putting a remote filter with say 2 to 3 feet of hose will this not decrease the oil pressure? Seems like adding the extra oil to compensate for the extra capacity it would stay the same...anybody on this?

opposite direction....depends upon the size of the hoses

Oil should be flowing from the outside in, coming out the big hole in the middle.

Pressure loss in the extra hose for a remote mount filter depends on the oil velocity, hose length, and if there are any tight bends involved. Big dia hose = low velocity = low pressure loss.
