Man this thing has been nothing but trouble :(... But, it spins the tires from a roll so I can't complain :D

I have a decent sized oil leak on the PS lower I/C bracket... I am trying to trace it... it is either coming from a tiny crack in the stock return line from the turbo that, I can see, or a larger crack further down the line, or possibly from the bolt that holds the I/C bracket to the block/front cover.

Can I get a new return line for this puppy?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Vavle covers tight?, mine leaked from there down the motor to the front of the car????, it still leaks a bit, but its a buick and dont they all leak :)
i just live with it...

Hmm... that is something worth checking. Thanks.

Check the front crank seal......especially if its never been replaced.
Another common one is the oil drain tube/pipe. They will crack when people try to install a turbo sometimes. Also if you have a K&N style breather on the front of the passengerside valve cover.
All are very common leak spots.
A rarer leak would be a turbo leaking from the center section. My TA49 did this or the gasket in between the drain and the center section.

Lee, is there any way to stop the k&n from leaking on the passenger side valve cover?, mine is leaking a bit from there also.
Thanks
Kevin

On mine, I put a plug in it. My engine has 134k miles on it and still runs good, but tended to saturate the breather and leak down the head and turbo support bracket. I ended up plugging it off.
Technically, if you look at a lot of roundy roundy engines, the breather(s) are always on the driverside as the crankshaft tends to sling to oil up on the passenger side. I have 1 breather and that is the one on the oil filler. I have been driving my car like this for over 3k miles with no problems with leakage at the oil pan, rear main or front seal.
The factory actually had an oil separator on that valve cover that attached to the inlet bell as part of the pcv system. IMHO, It isnt necessary and as stated, I have not experienced any ill effects from removing and plugging off the breather hole. But again, this is just my experience. Others opinions and experience will vary.

1) There is a B/N Fel-Pro seal in the front cover... I hope it is working... I payed primo $$$ for it.
2) There is a tiny crack in it 1/2 down, but doesn't drip at idle. Maybe it does @ the 10-17psi I have been pushing ;)
3)I do, now have a K&N breather in place there... time to looky.
4) I have that huge centre section gasket in place... the bloody thing was a PITA to install.

Thanks for the pointers. :)
