New engine, after the dyno I noticed the oil pressure would DROP when I got into boost, scary. I spent all of 2023 in a body shop so I never got at it. 2024 I drove like Grandpa National trying all sorts of tests, nothing.

Here's the deal.....
All new parts and engine build.
Oil on start up is mid 74psi.
Oil pressure under load falling slowly to where at 4000rpm its down to like 30psi.
Added 2 extra oil sensors, mechanical off oil block and tried oil filter, ran oil line into ECU-GN off block, this is legit falling,
Rick L ran line onto windshield, yep all sensors are correct.
Oil pan full
Oil filter swap = same drop under load.

What do you think it was?

Steve D on the board called it during an oil confirmation tuning session, he remembers 1 time a brand new GN engine had a similar issue and the solution was similar.

I get Rick L on the board to take in my problem child, he starts with drilling the oil pump and gets a solid 95psi, no fluttering. I'm getting worried he's gonna think I'm nuts. LOL
Rick adds oil line with gauge to windshield, sees I'm not nuts, dropping pressure ONLY under load/rpm/boost.

I bought a new RJC deep oil pan since it's coming off anyways and I don't have the cooler anymore. 7.5 qts is nice too.

Rick noticed my car vibration is the new engine got a stock flexplate swapped on it, problem solved with internal balance J+W flexplate. WTH long story here but my old internal balanced flexplate got nabbed in 2018 I bet and I didn't notice I never got it back. More people screwing with my shit.

Rick drops pan, WTH people = Pic 1
A hand cut plastic oil pick up tube gasket center hole opening, 12 bolt arp bolts that are somewhat loose and a lube I don't recall but he thought was odd.

Loose bolts and a hand cut gasket?
How is this on a new engine?
I think there's 2 scenarios that maybe happened but no proof so onward.

New Part Solution
Factory gasket and oil pick up used, problem solved, now Steve D knows 2 guys with this stupid $15 issue.

Thanks to Rick L from IL, solved 3 issues I was having and without his GN experience most people would've been stumped or not bothered to tackle it.

Solved oil psi drop issue.
Solved vibration with internal flexplate swap.
Solved steering column slack with putting back on neutral safety switch and no more tilting column to get key out.

Been a blast driving it and getting the tune dialed in, finally can boost it and see the oil pressure go UP!!!! Hahaha

I highly recommend Rick Lutz, if you're lucky he'll take on your GN and maybe give you a drum lesson while you wait. LOL
