Is there suppose to be a steel spacer between the gear pocket and the cover? If so, that would make the pocket to deep wouldn't it?

You may either have a oil boost plate in it or a high volume kit. How thick is the plate?

Approx. 1/4" thick

Sounds like a thrust/boost plate so don't worry about it. If you have presure you're good.:biggrin:

no pressure from pump

I have tried everything I can think of but I still can't get the pump to prime and pump oil. I have packed the chamber with petrolium gel and turned the pump with a drill and it still won't pump. What is the rotation of the pump? I figured it was counter clockwise. But either way i turn it it still won't pump.

Try spinning oil pump shaft(clockwise) with oil filter loose, retighten as soon as oil starts to flow, as long as your pick-up screen isn't clogged or loose from block this should work. good luck.
