I went ahead and installed both driver/pass. motors and found really good improvement on the driver side, but the pass. side still rolls up slow....but it does roll all the way up now.

Before, the pass. side would hit the seal and stop...now it rolls up full, but tooooo slow (at least in comparison to the drivers)

I'm trying to figure out how to wire the pass. side like other posts have indicated, but I can't follow?

These were stock replacements (not the 78 cutlass ones) and tracks are clean and greased. Elapsed time on the pass. window for roll-up is about 6 sec....driver = 3-4 secs.

Anyone???

Thanks,

Mark

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the slow movement of our windows can be contributed to the wires leading to the motors being to small. Try using a larger gauge wire to power the motors. I bet you will be very happy with the results. Let use know how things go.

I believe that's the case but would also like to repeat that the use of those earlier motors will do nothing to speed up the windows. My stock passenger side motor is on the slow side. If I were to push the passenger side button, the window does go up faster than if I use the driver side button which IMO means a wiring upgrade is the answer.

well, I figured that, but I'm not sure what gauge to go to...or worse, what exact wires am I suppose to change over?

Do I have to run a new wire from the driver's side all that way to the pass. switch...then to the motor?

I just want to make sure I don't hack something that shouldn't have been hacked.

I know Kirban sells some kind of harness. Don't know what it's comprised of or if it works.

As far as running new wire, I guess you'd have to run it from the powersource to driverside (that's where it's slow from) and over to the passenger side. Use like 10 or 12 guage wire. Sounds like a PIA. I'll just put up with slow and thank GM for their great design.

thanks Red Regal....I'll see what kind of damage I can do with that info.

A very good battery and charging system is a must because of the shortcomings of our power window system. Make sure you're good there.;)
