I'm installing a pt 51 turbo and my old actuator won't bolt up. The one hole is about a half inch off. Anyone run into this and what is the best way to resolve this. It is an adjustable wastegate. Thanks.

Not really a "how to", so mods will prob move... but, you may have to either elongate the hole or drill a new one to mate up correctly.

Yeah I figured that would be my last resort, to elongate the holes. I was just curious if there was a different wastegate that had multiple mounting holes.

the actuators are specific to the compressor housings, or more specifically the compressor housing clamps. What turbo did the actuator come from, or did you buy them together?

Got pics?

Bob

It came off a stock turbo. I got the new turbo from a friend. I can probably take a pic tomorrow.

pt51 uses an e cover which needs an e cover clamp welded to a stock actuator to work

I bought some angle iron at the hardware store that had about the same angle and height as the stock actuator bracket. I then welded a piece on to the actuator large enough to drill holes to bolt it up no issue.

Hello I am new to turbo Regals. I bought a 86 GN last week, it has a lot of upgrades already. But to really start making it quick looks like I need a better turbo(still has the stock garret) and a stall convertor. What turbochargers should I consider. Thanks

Ted, If you want some help please start your own thread. List all of your current mods and your goals. and the members here will sure help ya.

Thanks

Hello i am new to turbo Buicks. I would consider myself a pretty advanced gearhead I am a machinist and have built some seriously big inch harley dragbikes and have a Chevelle but this turbo regal stuff is new to me. Just bought a '86 GN last week and have been toying with it. It has bet retr0-fitted with a roller cam, has an Eagle rotating assembly and some port work/radius valve job etc... Motor is fresh and very tight. Also 3" downpipe with stock turbo upgraded injectors with pressure regulator, walbro pump, Pypes 2.5" exhaust, detroit locker. Shifts super firm I was told trans has been gone thru.Car is beautiful and fun to drive. Looks like my next step is probably a stall and a better turbo. What turbos would you guys recommend?? THANKS!

Welcome aboard Ted. Do yourself a favor and start your own thread rather than hijack someone elses thread.:)

And no Ronnie, Zack and I aren't related but great minds think alike.:p
