The wheels arent bad at all. Personally I like them alot better than alot of guys dated drag wheels, Just my opinion though

Hey I resemble that remark. At least some of us "old guys" can hook up at a stoplight (and anywhere else we need to). Try hookin' up with the 20s out back.

GNs are drag cars. 20" rims and such do them no good. Me no like, but to each his own. That car looks great otherwise. Mine's just a broken down recovered theft anyway.

Right on turbojimmy, Welds look killer on GN's!
I get compliments all the time on my "old school" Centerline auto drags and I've been runnin em for like 12 years now.

I personally like it and would do the same perhaps in the future when i meet my goals and decide to show mine

keep in mind his car is show or thats what it says at least

ill give it to him it looks tough

Who said GN's are drag cars? Or is that what you tell yourself to justify the dated look of Fat/skinnies? Some of you guys need to ask yourself who paid for it?,Was it you? then shut the hell up. I think the car looks good, there is no ricer goods that I saw. Personally I wouldn't have when with the 20's, but its his car and he can do what ever he wants with it. I just bolted 18's on my car and have had alot of + feedback and none - so far, and they make a 18" drag radial, so you don't have to look like your stuck in the 70's to go fast

Not really my style but it does look kinda tough in a weird kinda way. Im just not into the whole bling scene I guess

Dude, lay off the caffiene.

GNs were built to go fast in a straight line - they were built as drag cars. That's what they're all about. If you want to make them something else that's fine, hence the "to each his own" in my post. And where did I say it was ricey?

They can make 22" drag radials for all I care, the reality is that in order to put the power to the pavement you can't beat the sidewall a 15" rim gives you. But, again "to each his own". Some people would rather have more show than go. I'm not sure where in my post I said there was anything wrong with that.

And as far as my big 'n littles look - guess what? It's my car. You're not going to hurt my feelings if you don't like it. Nor should this guy care what I think or anyone else here thinks. They're OPINIONS. If he likes it, great.

If you look at the "history" of my car (since I've owned it) I've gone from stock sized tires, to wider tires on stock rims, to an extra pair of stock rims with wide tires, to DRs out back, to an extra pair of Welds with slicks, and ultimately to 4 Welds with full-time DOT slicks out back. It's not a style statement - it's a necessity. Eventually you get to a point where nothing will stick and you need to put as much sticky tire under the back as will fit.

Oh yeah.....I prefer to think I'm stuck in the 80's.

Jim

Ive got a set of 18s for my car, I havent installed them yet but Im sure they'll look awesome. Im keeping the stock rims and putting stickys and skinnys on them for when I want to hook up.

I like the way the car looks. I personally wouldn't have given the performance loss in by traction with the 20's but to each his own. I wouldn't pay $37,000 for a 225 hp BMW either. I went with 17" as a compromise between good looks and performance.

I might have had to many caffiene beverages yesterday. Don't get me wrong ,I love the look of 15" wheels with fat meats out back, but I also like the look of a G-Machine, w/ big wheels and a low stance. I don't like my cars to look stock. Maybe thats just me. Yes, I still have my GN wheels and like the way the car looks with them and some drag radials but, I think I could crack off something in the 11's or faster on 18" drag radial too! When I said your stuck in the 70's, what I meant is that all that have a bad opinion of this car are probably of a older age and can't exept what other poeple might do to their own cars these days. Anyways, If the rest of you guys want to continue to bash on good looking examples of a GN then atleast post pic's of yours so the rest of us can get a good look and point fingers too.

If Lewis and Clark prefer open air motoring, perhaps this chariot will suit them. :D

LOL. I had to look at that picture carefully. The wheels are so big it makes the car look smaller. I thought maybe it was photoshopped.

I like the caption on the side. To be young and FOOLISH!

I like it. I dont like the rims, but as others, I like the stance. If the wheels were more "Heath Elmer" there wouldnt be any negative comments here. Its just the "dubbed" look is flipping people off.

I appreciate anyone who has time and money into their car. Sometimes our opinions of what looks cool differs, but the big picture is the guy IS driving a GN after all. He cant be all that bad....

Jim

I think the exterior looks pretty good. That steering wheel is killing me though.

Hey, maybe your GN is JUST a drag car but I like to drive my car Period . whether it be straight line, oval, twisties - who cares. Hey guys it's 2004 - let the younger guys have fun and customize there cars too. You're right on one point though TO EACH THERE OWN If all the cars were black with convos it would truly suck. Just my humble opinion. - It's good to see difference.
