Hey guys, in about an hour I'm going to be able to drive a new Ford GT. My buddy called me Friday and wanted me to come over to see it. I was busy till now!! I never thought I'd have a chance to stand next to one, let alone drive one!!! His wife has to be the best wife ever, shes the one who bought it for him!! All in all, hes got 2 1970 Mach 1's, one 95 cobra that looks stock but runs low tens, one late 80's Mustang drag car with a 454 Chevy running high 7's, and one 65 fastback and and 66 notchback. Let alone a Motocross track in his back yard with 2 250R quads and 4 CR's and about 30 different gas powered RC cars. I'll hopefully post some pics in the next couple days!! ------Jeremy

A guy in town has a new GT. He won't race my LS1 on nuts, no bottle. I'm not impressed. But I'd still like to drive one!

I don't know why anyone would buy a GT over the new Z06. You can't touch that kind of performance for the money. My guess is most Ford GT buyers are more interested in the exclusivity and status the car brings. A new Z06 *could* be mistaken for a regular vette.

Well, I'm sorry to upset you TurboSam6. I would like to see you two dig it out on a road course! I love Turbobuicks but there is no mistaken on the performance these cars have. Have you read any testing results for these cars? Thats funny! Any ways, Guys this is an unbelievable car. I will have some pics up this week sometime!! Tony(OneFastGn), my buddy Shawn, and I were very impressed!! That is an amazing car. Talking about status and all that, you'd be amazed. Sean is a general construction worker and his wife owns a recycling business that she started on a trade from her Mustang GT and $50. If you want to talk about status, let's talk. That is a case of very hard work and great financial planning. Hard work pays off!! Congrats to my friend because that is an absolutely amazing car!!!!! ------Jeremy

I second that.Really great people.Maybe some day I will own one like it....Of course my wife is going to be a Doctor soon.Hell I won't care if she make a hell of alot more money then me,Thats the good things in life, hard work and play harder thats what I say...

Not upsetting me, not sure what you mean???

Anyway, thats cool he is a down to earth guy. My point was for ALOT less money you could buy the new Z06 and get comparable performance, albeit in a much more "common" wrapper. I'd still love to drive one, and I'm sure on the roadcourse he would hand me my ass, but I've never been much for the twisties. My previous LT1 car was setup for scca racing and did pretty well, but I kinda like getting down on the street and no one street races in anything but a straight line (except ricers).

It would be hard to beat the attention getting factor of that GT though! I bet its a traffic stopper!

The new GT looks killer.. I like em alot. Although for that kind of money its hard to swallow that it had a pretty serious suspension recall... and not only that the engine apparently has a oil leak that is remedied by a "speedy sleeve" when it happens.

Theres a white one around here, blue stripes... I wouldnt mind getting him to bite after my SC is installed.

Definately have to agree on the value per dollar on that one!! The only thing is, there are a ton of ZO6's and not many GT's. Never been much for Fords but thats one that I'd be happy to have if I won the lottery!!! What exactly are the recalls on them? Just curious, my friend didn't mention anything about them so I wonder if he knows? ------Jeremy

Jeremy
I think they have fixed all the recall Items on the 06 model before they could sell them to the public.I do recall it being a big deal and for the price I think they jumped rite on top of that fix. This is only what I have heard.
