I will be running a T66 with 20-25 pounds of boost. Will this work and is it a quality product? Thanks!

Sorry meant to post a hyperlink. It is the Tial 38mm.

For your combo is should work. For larger units the gate doesn't flow very well. We did some testing on the 38 from Turbosmart and Tial. The turbosmart 38 flowed ALOT more and is able to keep a 383ci SBC with a T88 down to 5psi. The Tial couldn't hold it at any less then 9-11psi, and the boost was not steady.

I also agree the 38 will work for his combo. I know the 38 tial will not be adequate for the larger 70's...definitely did not control a 74 turbo.

dont mean to hijack but a simple response will do.
when is it appropriate to ditch the internal wastegate setup and go to one of these external wastegates? or can i use a (for example) a T63E with an internal gate and rjc boost controller and be fine? i just wont be able to go below a certain boost point like 16-18 with a hd actuator

Low 10's probably.

If you have lots of flow.

Or if you like the cool electronics/features and such.

Stock headed car it's probably never appropriate. ;)

Just my .02. :)

Haven't seen Woody around here lately he's more of an expert on the stock type setup.
