Orange ECM wire serve any purpose with XFI

With XFI installed does the stock orange ECM wire serve any purpose?...does it kill power to the XFI box?...haven't tried unplugging it...just curious...

The orange ECM MEM wire serves the same purpose with the XFI as with the stock ECM. Maintains ram memory. It is necessary for the XFI.
