Orig Streering components

Off the showroom floor , were the original steering components (tie rods, center link , idle arm , sway bar ) painted or just natural ? I just pulled everything off of a low mileage TR and it looks like the center link was painted , but the tie rods were not . I'm restoring the front suspension on this car and was wondering . Thanks

The center link was painted black but the tie rods were left in the raw and covered in cosmoline. Do yourself a favor and don't go this way. At least put antisieze on the tie rod threads and if it's clean paint all of it.

Thanks . everything is new MOOG , so painting it would not be a problem . last TR I had I clear coated everything that was natual/raw when I re-did the front with new stuff . it held up pretty good .
