i recently had some trans issues which caused me to hit the rev limiter on my dis4 msd unit. i have it set at 6300 rpm. i lifted within a second of being on the limiter. hit it about 3 times. can't hear any abnormal noises so i should be ok?

Well, you can use a long socket extension with one end pressed against your ear and the other on different parts on the engine. You can also cut the oil filter open. I would say if you don't hear or see anything, your fine.

I'd remove the rev limiter if you run alky injection

The ECM cuts fuel to bring the revs down could get a super lean condition if its still spraying Alky bye bye head gasket.

there is no stock rev limiter. the msd cuts spark.........

Hitting a rev limiter under high load is not a good thing for a high cylinder pressure engine.

i set it more for a no load...such as no shift, driveline failure...would be ok under these circumstances?

Its better than not having it under those circumstances. Youd probably bend all the ex valves if that happened with no limiter.

ok. now, what about using the 2 step control for consistant launch rpm? is that too much of a load considering your previous posts?

It's not even close because it's not cutting all the cylinders at once and the rpm won't be dropping as much and you won't be close to full power cutting it then abruptly hitting it again.
