Can someone tell me where the fluid level should be on the stock trans dipstick if the trans has been run and you overfill it one quart on a cold motor? A picture would be great! :D

Interesting question.. not sure why you would ever check the trans fluid without the car running? I imagine the trans pump or internals can drain back into the pan and then leave inconsistent measurements from trans to trans - is why they don't say to check the fluid without the car running.

Def check it running only. Before I got a deep pan, I ran mine 1qt high like you mention. When running but cold, the fluid would still be to the top of the full mark. When warm, the fluid would be roughly the same distance above the full mark as the distance between full and 1qt low, understandably so. Sorry, no pic. Always check it after shifting through gears and with motor running even when cold.

If you're worried about having enough and the car won't start, any on the dipstick will be enough to start off with.

every thing ive ever read say check fluid running ? did I get a degree learning wrong stuf ?

its not engine oil ... sorry thought u ment without engine runing

Warm and running in park...around the middle of the back and forth bends on the dipstick.

Understand checking fluid level warm, in park.

Now, lets say its warm/park/full, and you add a qrt. Shut car off, and it cools down. Pull the dipstick to read the level. Is there not a correlation between the dipstick readings running/warm/park and not running/cold?

There is. You just need to check it cold, like you say, after you've verified the proper warm level while running.

Actually the level when not running is going to depend on how long it has sat. The converter will drain back into the pan but it doesn't do it instantly. This is the whole reason you are supposed to check it when running.
