Ok I had this in another post but I didn't want to hijack it. Anyway, my car was getting up to 234* while driving/sitting, etc. I was gonna pick up a thermostat today and a rad cap cause they are cheap and good maint anyway. So I look at my cap and it's for 20-24psi  Is this normal? Could this high pressure cause the overheating problems I'm having? thanks.

Just thought I'de add some more info. The air coming from the fan is VERY hot. I would guess this means that coolant is flowing through the engine so the t stat is ok and w/p. Correct? Or could one be "failing" and only work some times. No weird noises/leaks from the pump either.

Mine has been running at the exact same temp, and I even have a 160 thermostat and water wetter in it. I think the cap is supposed to be like 16 lbs or something. I think thats what mine is. Only fix for me is a real radiator. The entire center of the radiator was spewing a ton of coolant out of the fins on mine, so I had to put a bunch of sealer in it. But now all my water jackets and the tubes are full of this garbage, so it doesnt cool worth crap. I cant even run A/C cause the system is dead. I cant imagine how hot it would run if I was running A/C. It sucks being so broke I cant spend 100 bucks on a new core.

I think I'm gonna drain a little coolant and watch how it's going through the rad.
