working on replacement doors stickers thru ECS for 86 GN with T-Tops. original stickers are unreadable. Per the invoice, this 86 GN had a shipping weight of 3285. options listed:
86 GN invoice_options.jpg

in addition to the above, this 86 also has VD6 & VD7 aluminum bumper reinforcements, and G80 posi-rear.

when I compare this 86 to my 87 T-top GN (extended production)....

the 87 shipping weight is 3212 =>73 lbs less. 87 door sticker reads:

GVWR ______GAWR FRT________GAWR RR
4469LB______2180LB___________2289LB
2027KG______0989KG___________1038KG

from tire loading decal, all 86 - 87 GNs were 5 passengers, 910 lbs (413KG)

********Can't just add the 73 lb difference to my GVWR. I have never seen a GVWR greater than 4500 lb. the only option differences between the cars is the 86 has these additional options:

alum bumper reinforcements vs steel on the 87
B34, B35 floor mats
B48 trunk kit
C68 digital touch HVAC control vs C60 manual controls
D64 lighted passenger mirror
T82 Twilight Sentinel
UA6 Theft Alarm
US7 power antenna vs US6 fixed antenna
UW4 concert sound

the heaviest GVWR for a 86 or 87 GN with T-tops i have on file is this one at 4480 lb (extended production 87 from my digital library):

Anyone have an 86 or 87 GN with T-tops having a GVWR different or greater than 4469 lb or 4480 lb, per the door sticker? if so, could you post an image of the weights? Thanks.

Here’s my full set of stickers for the cause. This is a September ‘87 T-top car with analog dash, concert sound 2. GVWR was 4480.

I can not send pics because the door was replaced years ago, but I do remember 4480 being the number for the max weight as well, 87 gn built in late 1987

Thanks Andrew, Thanks Tyler for the confirmations. I'll give it some more time before I order the door stickers in case someone comes up with a unicorn greater than 4480 lbs. All I've seen for 86-87 T-top GN's GVWR is either 4469 lbs or 4480 lbs. I stopped taking pictures of door jams years ago after seeing these two numbers seemingly all the time. But there is always the chance I could be proven incorrect.

@87national55, thanks for the post. by any chance do you have the GM invoice to share your shipping weight? If not, by chance did you have similar options I noted in post #1 like VD6 & VD7 alum bumper reinforcements, B34 & B35 carpet saver floor mats , B48 trunk kit?

just trying to think of heavier stuff that could inch the GVWR higher...
