Just upgrade your converter to a 3400-3500 and no ball bearings required. A re-stall is cheaper than the ball bearing upgrade. My car cuts 1.5 60's on drag radials with a completely stock susp. and has plenty of power to blow the drag radials away. My 86T would cut mid 1.4 60's on 28X9 slicks and if you lauched with too much boost it would spin the slicks. A 3400-3500 stall in a Buick drives great, mine feels just like a stocker under normal street driving. Ball bearing turbos are pretty new to turbo Buicks and many have gone fast over the last 20 years without them.

I can do that i got 1 free restall from precision. Trans and motor are already sitting out of the car now at the shop. Might as well send the header off and be ceramic coated

What the fastest with 67 so far?

I've had the PT67 for 3 years, since they first came out. It's awesome on the street and strip. Little turbo lag on the street and at the track, I ran a 10:78 @126

10:78 @ 126
10.78 @ nearly 126 mph through closed exhaust on MT DOT tires @ 21 lbs boost on 110 octane gas. The fully optioned car weighs nearly 3700 lbs with me in it. No line lock - I launch the car by braketorqueing to about 2 -3 lbs boost.

Motor built in 2003 by Pete Barton of ANS. Stock 109 block, bored 10 over. 4 steel main caps and ARP fastners. GN1 heads & intake, Garrett GT67 turbo, 62mm throttle body with PTE upper plenum and RJC powerplate, Buickgn.com cold air kit, Comp 210-210 roller cam, JE pistons, PTE front mount, ATR Double Pumper, 57 lb Seimens high impedence injectors with stock computer, Turbotweak chip, 3" TH downpipe, ATR 2 1/2" stainless exhaust.

Trans by Jimmy's Transmissions, 3400 stall Precision 9" lockup convertor. Aluminum driveshaft, Moser axles, stock rear end. ATR big rear sway bar - no front sway bar. H&R upper & lower control arms, 1 air bag and a pinion snubber.

Don't forget about John Crawford's GN from Canada.

With a PT6776R, I believe his best last year was 10.35 @ 130. Maybe he will post up in here. Hope this wasn't Top Secret Info John, but I do believe, you're the man right now with the BB version of this turbo. Man your car looks awesome! Stealthy but mean at the same time.

Patrick

Actually Pat, first pass with the 67 was a 10.37 @ 134.2, next one was a 10.35 @ 134.6.

Thanks of course to yourself and Rod.

John isn't much of one to brag, but I thought I would post a more recent picture of his car.

I was there when the car did those runs. And it didn't look like it worked too hard to do it.

Runs were made with Pump Gas and Alky.......

Just cuz' you never hear of the fast cars every 2nd post doesn't mean they aren't out there....

Oh yeah!! Shhweeet choice in wheels.
Your car is definitely a fast real street car for sure.
Keep up the good work John.

What does a 300rwhp Supra and a 1200rwhp Supra have in common? They both run 12's. Things cant hook for crap. But in terms of engineering and manufacturing quality, they're hard to beat. Beautiful fit and finish and a stock block that can handle 1000hp. But they're so damn expensive!
Everywhere Ive looked, the 45a seems like a killer turbo. Keep in mind that for the street, a little lag is a good thing. Also, which has less friction? A shaft riding on oil, or a ball bearing? Seems like they would be pretty close. If I ever had the money, I would get the 45 with a 3000 stall and an RJC bleeder.
