Passenger Header Heat Shield

I searched but didn't find the answer.

I know alot of guys don't run the factory side heat shield anymore after having the crack fixed but is there any ill effects about not running the shield on the passsenger side??? It's the one right above the lower radiator hose in case anybody was wondering. Mine started to rattle so it's sitting on the workbench now

mine did the same

thing, however, I purchased s/s pop rivets and repaired it. I had to remove it to cut out for the egt probe and reinstalled it w/the s/s rivets.

I replaced the rivits with small stainless steel screws. I've had no problems to date. It was just something in my mind about the rubber hose and all that heat.
