I have a stock PCV setup with a check valve before the PCV, stock valley pan setup, I have big breathers on both valve covers and I get quite a bit of oil blowing out of the breathers under heavy accel...they smoke just a tad at idle as well...any cure for this? someone told me to get some breathers with tubes sticking out the sides of them and route some rubber hose to under the car...
Hey Don, hows it going? I would be taking a close look at that pcv set up because i would think it should eat up all the blow by @ idle. What check valve? Kirbans? Mine lasted about a month then stuck open. I replaced with a nice stainless steel industrial check valve and it works sweet now. If the pcv is not in the whole it will cause problems too. I've caught mine popped out and off to the side. I would pull the entire assembly and make sure the pcv is working and its not letting air blow back into the crankcase. Should flow one way and not the other. You know how it works.
On the oil sucking issue I did install a catch and its just incredible the oil this thing is catching. Its got to be the turbo drain. I have plans to relocate the drain tube to the side of the oil pan. I might try moving the pcv to the valve cover also. The valley pan gasket does not seem to block all the oil like I originally thought.
