I just laid down my new floor from American Garage. It is a 80 mil thick mat. It looks sweet. Even my wife likes it. I hope it holds up to the abuse of working on a GN.:D

nice, you'll love it....we have that (or something very close, not sure of brand) in one of our fire houses so far so good its been down about a year

Mark, Its just a mat with the diamond plate look to it. It is supposed to be resistant to stains from oil, coolant etc...Time will tell on that.

I didnt want the PITA of putting down epoxy. This way when I move one day and actually have a "shop" I can take it with me.

For 10 x 20 it was $536.

Not bad. I would try something like that if my garage floor was actually level without cracks everywhere!

what happens to the mat when you jack up the car, does it bunch up or smoosh....curious....

It doesnt move at all. I can drag my craftsman rollaway tool box across it, set jack stands, etc... So far it is doing exactly as advertised. Cleans up well too.

Grids, one piece, cut to fit??? Would like to see some close up shots of the corners, I did the expoxy 2 years aro and it's flaking around edges, looks like this is a good choice.

Looks nice, unfortunately it is out of my price range. It would cost me over $3K to do my garage floor. There is no such thing as a cheap good garage floor coating/covering.

Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for.

As far as installation: It was 10 x 20 standard. Custom cuts are more. It was very easy to trim with a regular box cutter. It came on a roll and after one night of being laid out it flattened on all 4 corners. They suggest double sided tape if you need it..I didnt.

I will take close up pics tonight.

Heres the requested close up pics and areas where I had to trim to fit.

I had my garage floor done by a local company called "Fibrexpert" a year ago which uses some kind of composite fiberglass coating which is bonded to the concrete and it has held up really nice to date (see pics below). It seals the floor and is oil resistant. It can be repaired if something ever happens. There are several color choices available. You can have plain grey or a special granite speckeled-like finish. I chose in several tones of white, light grey, dark grey and black ...
The two first pictures were taken when it had just been done a few hours before and the last with my car inside a month and a half later (see the dates on the pictures...).

Claude ;)

So that's what the "rich" people are up to.

Is that the ole garbage can mod on your intercooler? Haven't seen that in a while.

Those damn trash cans went up in value, today i went to office depot after picking up my paycheck and it was 4.99!

I went to a friends house and we mocked it up, and its going on the car.
We used to do the rubbermaid back in the day, i picked him up another turbo regal and we are bringing it up to snuff. The trashcan ought to be good enought to plow some snow here real soon LOL

4.99 WHAT A JOKE! I remember when they were less than 3.00!

Yes your post made me go out and buy it for him, he laughed and started making measurements:biggrin:

I went with red Benjamin Moore industrial epoxy coating. It was done over two years ago and has held up prety good. No hot tire lift off of the coating, but it is very slippery when it gets twet. If I ever were to build another garage, I would use colored concrete. The concrete company told me the colored concrete may not match from truck to truck when they poured the floor. Hindsight says: with four cars in the garage, the walls lined with tool boxes and benches, how much clear floor is really visible? I found a company that pours a 1/4" 5000psi concrete-like covering over the existing floor in just about any colr you'd want. They can also do desisns. logos, etc. It is between $4-6 square foot.

Very nice...but how do you work on that GN in that meager space?:D

I cant even pull my floor jack out without bumping into the wall or my wifes car. One day I will have a spacious work area like yourself.
