Piston Ring Side Clearance

What is the specificaiton for piston ring side clearance for stock pistons?

My machinist says he measured 0.004" and wants to put in new pistons.

Any opinions?

Turbo Regal Web Site has all the specs for stock pistons etc.
That is of course the Buick Bible so you would know that right!
