Plastic License Plate Sheilds / Covers ?

I have a clear on the front to protect the plastic "6" plate I have and a smoked cover on the back for looks. I wish there was another option here in Missouri for a better looking plate because the covers are a pain in the butt. I rarely wash my car because it lives in the garage but when I do, water always seems to get between the cover and the plate and leaves water spots when it finally dries. Not to mention they seem to crack VERY easily. The front has a nice crack in it now from a rock so it seems to do it's job.

You seem to have a very narrow view of law enforcement, but apparently you're a self proclaimed expert since you know 5 guys on CPD. Abuse of power to "nail chicks" they stop (as you put it) is unethical and worthy of discipline. Examples of your buddies and application of that poor behaviour to the rest of us is just a bit unfair to say the least. I have 15 years on a dept. of 800 and am assigned to patrol a city of 75,000 with a major freeway. I have YET to see any of this behaviour on my department.

Personally and professionally, I find it somewhat important for people to clearly read license plates. If they didn't need to be read then why have'em? Maybe you find such "cheezy" laws unimportant because CPD doesn't have time to deal with those things. I'm not "small town" or even close to it. In fact, I believe the city I patrol is probably just a populated and/or large as some CPD precincts. The county I have jurisdiction is in fact larger than Chicago and almost as populated (996 square miles/1.1 million people).

Apparently you're of the opinion the traffic/vehicle equipment laws are just there for looks and that's fine, but if you can articulate why people should be able to disguise their license plate with a dark cover perhaps you'd be more credible than simply making unequal comparisons and generalizations of all police officers.

Lets stick to the subject at hand and make logical and articulable reasons to support or oppose your position on this topic. If you can't, then I'm done discussing this with you.

Id like to know the whole neon lights under the car thing. Why are they illegal? I was told they were a distraction. Sure thing, and so is that fancy italian restaurant with its huge neon sign on the side of the road. Same with windshield washer lights. Oh and you cant have blue or red lights on the front of your car? This was brought about because of people impersonating cops. Well, in order to impersonate a cop you would have to have red and blue flashing lights. But the congress, government or whoever makes these laws, are way to lazy to give any thought to them and make the laws to vague. I got pulled over in indianapolis for my red washer lights while on my way to visit my sister in ohio. I never got pulled over out here the whole time I had em. He told me to take them off or he was gonna tow my car. I told him I didnt have a switch. So I had to yank the wires out by hand. He asked me if I knew they were illegal and I told him yes. He asked my why I have em. I told him because I think the law us unfair and in my own words "stupid". He said "let me tell you something, theres alot of women that get raped from people impersonating cops". So I said, "if any girl is dumb enough to thing a little red dodge neon with red lights on the hood is a cop, then they deserve to get raped". He pretty much just told me to take em off. I yanked the wires went back to his car to get my license and simply told him, "they're goin back on when I get home, but thanks for your important time. Now go get some drug dealers". Its amazing how much you target us people with modified cars when you should be messing with real crime. Your toying with peoples hobbies, something that keeps some of us out of trouble. And it's understood that some laws you need to enforce. But stand with us for these stupid laws. You and I know they are stupid, and they are just another excuse to meet your quotas because you can't stop any real crime. It's so funny to see your eyes light up when you see an equipment violation. Oh yeah, a super cop to the rescue!

I'm not trying to get into if these lights are right or wrong. But what you said there was WRONG... PERIOD. I don't care if you were trying to just mouth off to a cop or make a point, that statement was WRONG! No woman deserves to be raped.

In a population this size, it's unavoidable. Seemingly, most of the people have their heads on straight, but of course, you will come across the occasional person that doesn't fit the bill.

Im as levelheaded as anyone, just dont cross that line. After about 50 equipment violations and NO moving violations after say 10 years of driving, you kinda wonder what the cops are really after......the EASY score. Break a leg guys!

Wel, I stand by my quote. I'm sure there are a lot more guys as well as ladies on here that will agree. No woman deserves rape PERIOD. It's violent, it's brutal, often fatal, it's unacceptable in ANY circumstance and WRONG. God forbid that ever happens to any ladies that you or I know. If you don't like women who do stupid things, that's fine. But wishing physical harm upon upon women is simply disgusting. NO CLASS.

You're probably the type of person that thinks a girl who dresses slutty or wears to short a skirt deserves to be raped as well. All the power to you. LOL. 50 equipment violations???? That's CRAZY!!! How many equipment violations have I had in the past 14 years... 1 (one). That was for tinted windows. (I will admit, the cop was being an a$$ and looking for something to stop me for.) After that one violation for tinted windows which were legal, I simply went to the MVA, a state trooper came out and tested my windows. His initial tests showed that it was too dark by 6 percent. Then he advised me that this was possibly due to the windows being dirty. He let me borrow some window cleaner and towels. Afterwards he tested it again and it was 1% outside of the limit and he said that was good enough. They gave me a sticker to put in my windows to say that it is legal and certified and let me go on my way. No money paid. If you ask me, that state trooper was being cool and helped me out.

All the violations I seem to get are MOVING violations. That would be because my car has this funny habit of moving too fast.

However, in your case, it sounds like you repeatedly ignore those equipment tickets and now they have your name and car on a list of who to look out for. Who's really to blame.

Oh, not that it matters, but equipment violations are A LOT more strict here in Germany than in the states.

Sure do. Guess, ill have to learn from experience. But I would never do it. And dont change the subject, get back to cops. Some girls deserve it for stuff they did. Personally, I resort to other things, but thats my business and the cops didnt catch me. In fact they got the wrong guy haha. Cops are jokers, even the detectives couldnt figure me out.

And by the way, Cops are all busters and always will be busters. They cant do there job and there isnt enough of em anyways. My position on cops stands, and if your a cop, then come get me.
