Ok i did a search and noticed not to many people like to use the 8mm wires from AC Delco... ANy reason why???????

Too expensive.

One set of good aftermarket ones should last you 8-10 years.

The original delco wires sucked when they were new in "87" I wouldn't give $.10 for a new set!

I have had good luck with Taylor and MSD wires. If you really want a trick look, go for the taylor "409" wires. They're as thick as battery cables:D Just keep in mind that you are paying for a lot of silicone. The conductor core is the same!

A lot of folks here like the Magnacore wires, also a good wire!

Just stay away from the Accel SS. A $20.00 set of wires is not a great deal! It's a problem waiting to happen. Leave these for the ricers!

Would my local autozone carry magnacore or would i have to order from somewhere else????

I don't have an Auto Zone around here, so I can't tell ya! I think Ramchargers and other TR vendors carry the Magnacore!

The MSD and Taylors available through any speed shop and possibly Summit or Jegs. They don't list the application in the catalog, but may have them if you call.

MSD makes are real nice set for turbo Buick motors. Very high quality, excellent fit and long plug insulators so you do not pull off the ends. Do not have the part no. handy but they run ~$60 a set.

Tow Man is right about that! Battery cables:D LOL

Another good set is available through Red Armstrong (Quad Air)
(440-235-3232) at $24 a set.

Good luck.:)

Contact Red Armstrong at Quad Air. He makes an excellent replacement wire that looks alot like stock. They are priced well, built excellent and fit like glove. Oh and they perform well too. I use them on my 11 second car and will be using them on my next car also.

I think the major reason that nobody uses Delco's is that Delco only sells repalcement TR wires in a universal length, plus the wires are black and not quite the same on the boot end.

Personally, I'd pay a lot of money if somebody had a NOS set of wires laying around, because I think orig. Delco stuff can't be beat.

I'm using Red's wires now. Nice wires, and reasonably priced. Only thing I'll say that after installing them a month ago, I pulled them off (and yes, I used a boot puller) and two of the wires are now garbage because the ends pulled off. This seems to happen a lot more with aftermarket wires than with orig. wires, because I changed plugs all the time and never had a problem with my delcos. But otherwise, they are nice wires and Red ships them out fast. $33 bucks shipped - can't beat that.

Just my opinion.

I'm using the magnecor 8.5 wires. Nice fit and good customer service. I damaged 1 wire due to stupidity. You can call them up and just replace 1 wire of the set if needed.
