as far as racism dying? HA!!! when i served at fort knox, every time me and my buddy would go into town we'd get called everything from spic, on up and this was in uniform , but i also know that there were a lot of klans-men around fort-knox. Do you think i hold that against white's? hell no, those are just narrow minded a$$-hole's who have nothing better to do, we would just laugh and keep walking

Ok, consider this. You're trained as a police officer to use the Taser when a violent subject isn't responding to your commands. This kid isn't responding to your commands.

You have a partner, the kid has cut himself 2x already with a shard of glass and is threatening to cut himself again if anyone approaches closer.

You have these weapons at your disposal:

- Pepper Spray
- ASP/Baton
- Taser
- Firearm

Beleive me when i say I did not mean in all cases.I just was making an observation based on what I see alot of around here where i live.

Yes most if not all of the school shootings around here are done by black or hispanic kids.Like it or not this is the truth in Dallas.As for Miami...I don't know.

The last thing I want to be labeled as is a rascist.My closest friends are Hispanic,I am 1/4 myself.They would even agree with me on the points I stated here.I was not saying all "minority"parents are oblivious to what their kids do.Those that are seem to always make excuses for the bad behavior after the fact.Please note that I put minority in " " marks.I do this because I beleive the word minority to belong to actually the least # in an area and most consider it to be black or hispanic.I assure you that I am the minority in TX,especially my local area.

As far as the love part of the conversation.I would hope that ALL parents love their kids unconditionally.I beleive that it has been forgotten that love also includes discipline.

Unfortunately apparently not all parents do love their kids unconditionally.There is a family here that was just taken to jail for keeping a 14 yr old boy in a garage and having him sleep on the concrete.The neighbors called it in after catching on to them.Poor kid was getting fed by the neighbors at night sneaking him food.No doubt that has some serious psychological repercussions for the kid.His sisters were treated normal,went to school,had bedrooms,got food,etc.He got nothing.Sad sad story.

I too served in the ARMY.I was raised in it too.That is one place that you definitely learn that we are all the same.

I am sorry if I offended you.I was speaking of Mexicans.No, not mexican-americans either.Just your plain old run of the mill illegal type.I think it has alot to do with where they come from.

I agree with you!!! Taser was the best move. I asked my dad (ex 25 years lawenforcement) what would be the proper deal he said the stun gun is the only way out of it. There was a simular situation here I guess years ago and the same outcome as the above story. "Kid with a Knife threatens everyone police stun gn him story at 11"

Everyone lives noone else is injured that is what the police have to concider first!!

considering that it's a piece of broken glass i would slap the glass out of his hands, i would do the now and i'm not a cop but my father was, and my brother-in law and my cuz is, this is a piece of glass that no one knows how big or small it was, and why did'nt they call the parents, it's all over the news here and watching channel 7 they just said that medical experts agree that stun gun s are dangerous to use on kids, and by the way it has happened again a 12 yr old girl skipping school was tasered by the same police dept, now dept officials say that the officer should not have used the taser and that disciplinary action will fallow. just ask anyone on the board who lives here.

High voltage combined with low amperage gets your attention. Ever grab a spark plug wire?

Conversely, high amperage with either high or low voltage will kill you cold. Don't grab a high tension power line, or a regular power line that's been downed by a storm.

I'll be following my department's policy on the use of our Taser. It's the first step up the ladder in the use of force continuum after verbal commands fail. Deviating from policy which results in unintended consequences is a good way to end up in the unemployment line, or worse yet as a defendant.

Following department policy on use of force protects one's self against internal discipline and civil lawsuits.

well since you also deviated from my answer , it only takes 5amps to kill a man, remember my argument was this was done to a child, which the mother has come on t.v. saying her child has never hurt nor attempted to hurt himself or anyone and they showed the kid on t.v too ( i don't think they should have done that) stunning a grown man or woman or even a teenager is fine with me but a 6yr old is way to young in my opinion. A child can kill and/or maim too. Apparently mom doesn't think he's been violent in the past but it seems he was that day. I believe the reports say he broke a picture frame (was that by accident?) and then cut himself 2x. Mom's trying to shed a good light on Jr. It's always the bad 'ole cops.

Had they pepper sprayed him they would have been complaining about that. Good GOD!...they pepper sprayed a 6 yr old kid!!...that's outrageous!! They should have tackled him!

Had 2 officers tackled him mom and community would have villified the police department as well. Good GOD!....two highly trained full grown male police officers had to tackle an itty bitty 6 yr old kid!!....that's outrageous!! They should have used pepper spray!

Had they used a baton to smack the edged weapon from his hand mom and the community would have been screaming about that. Good GOD!...a police officer actually hit MY 6yr old kid with his baton!?!...that's outrageous and I'm suing!!

Last I knew when these incidents presented themselves it's suppposed to come to a peaceful conclusion with no injuries. That is the case here. Not one person was injured whatsoever. What's this debate about again?

NO not 5 amps I mean 1/2 an amp.No not finished yet.I got 10 years in this trade and just finally got serious about the school part.Of course the first 5 years were working for a non union shop.I am what they call a 3rd year apprentice now,but I seem to be doing alot of teaching foreign equipment to people because of my experience with all types of elevators from the open shop days.
