Pontiac Sunfire 2.4 automatic transaxle fluid level??

A co-worker has the above car (fairly new not sure of the year). The trans is slipping. We screwed off the cap on the trans and couldn't see any fluid. Is this how you check the fluid level on this thing?? What should it be at? Could someone clue me in?

There is no dipstick on that trans. You need to remove the bottom pan and put in the amount discribed in the owners manual. Or take it to the dealer.

Near the passenger side axle on the engine side of the trans is a pipe plug. With the engine running remove the plug and fill with ATF from top of trans. When fluid starts to trickle out of pipe plug hole, it's full.
