Porting the wastegate hole

I just wanted to show everyone some pictures of the porting I did on this turbine housing. If you want your turbo to not have issues like boost creep ,surging, ect it’s wise to match up your flap on your downpipe to the wastegate hole . Basically what I did was smear alil grease on the flap then bolted it up to the turbine housing. Now that I had the relation of the DP flap to the turbine housing I made another circle that I could port out and still have the flap covering it .

Wonder if this would help on an external wastegate ?
Well if it’s going through that .950” hole in the housing does it matter how big your external gate is ? You have a 22mm restrictor plate before your 44mm wastegate so yea I would port it to match up .
 
Also a good idea to blend the sharp corners inside the housing. It does make quite a bit of difference.

Yes that is very true . That’s why I included those pics . I did a lot more smoothing with my turbine housing.
